We were walking Spadina St. looking for some Asian food before going to a show. We stumbled into a lineup of Asians waiting to get a table at Swatow. We obviously joined the lineup. It didn't take long to get a table and the food started arriving very quickly. The food was good. I have had better Asian food but... More

I used to eat here during my University of Toronto days. The décor has barely changed as well as the service and food. We ordered shrimp with lobster sauce on rice, beef with black bean sauce on rice noodle, and fried wontons. The total including tax and tip was about $35. The shrimp with lobster sauce on rice tasted great... More

Order shrimp dumpling soup with noodles and brisket! Especially if it's a cold and crappy day. All soups are super yummy!

Just tried today as my brunch. I ordered the signature soup noodle which has everything including fish ball, beef ball, beef, dumpling etc. Not tasty to me. This kind of noodles in my home town is x10 times more delicious. What a waste of my quota of appetite! There are so many other choices in the city. I should have... More

Unassuming restaurant with fast efficient service serving really good and authentic Cantonese dishes. On a recent long weekend trip to Toronto we actually are here twice. Second time at midnight post Adele concert. Dumplings are amazing, duck noodle soup was very good. A few surprising ingredients in their house special noodle soup that would not be our first choice. But... More

I don't mean the restaurant is dirty however it wasn't overly clean,I mean it is quick fresh & tasty and old school Chinatown service. Not great not bad but effective. Food was very good and I love restaurants like this. Prices very fair and portions significant The only thing missing for me was BBQ Pork and Duck hanging in the window.... More

Non-descript location on Spandina recommended by a private driver after a late night. Arrived at 2:30, place was almost full. Plain, white tables, no ambiance to speak of. Wait staff is all business and for good reason. This placed was lined up by 3am and out the door when we left at 3:30am. Home style presentation, portions were huge. Food... More

A great place in Chinatown, food tastes like in China, and there are mainly Chinese guests. Big choice of congee. Great value!

Let's go to Chinatown and have a meal, she said. We got off the trollybus and didn't have a clue. Pick one that's busy, it's a safe bet, I said. So we did, we were gestured where to sit, given an extensive menu and told they'd be back in a minute. We ordered a main course and it was huge,... More

Chinatown
Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun. Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces that shoulder in against each other display shining roast ducks and menus studded with dumplings and noodle bowls. The air is pervaded with music. different languages, and the smell of fried food and mouth-watering desserts. Chinatown's restaurants represent a broad range of fare, from traditional Szechuan and Shanghai foods, to other Asian delicacies, including some of the top Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean spots in the city. Whether you're in the mood for a sit-down tea house or a bubble tea to go, Chinatown is the spot to enjoy an exciting walk and the promise of leaving satisfied.
