Great food, good daily deals, lovely back patio - super relaxed atmosphere. The grilled salmon with spinach and goat cheese was most lovely, tasty veg medley with it. Good sized portion. The chicken quesadillas was also excellent - with large side salad. Desserts sound devine - too full to try! Will be back another day.

Had Quesadilla beef and mushroom. It comes with either fries or soup. Both are quite tasty. Beef is a bit greasy but taste good. Service is also good. Will come again.

Nice small Mediterranean restaurant with a good range of appetizers, mains & desserts. The lunch menu is very good value & the food fresh home cooked style. The alacarte menu is extensive as is the wine list, so evening dinner could be a good experience. Worth a try if you are in the neighbourhood.

This to me is the best small restaurant in Toronto. We have been here almost 10 times and every single time it was amazing. our favourites are there pesto chicken and coconut curry chicken penne. The food is fresh and everything is presented beautifully. The prices are awesome to we had 2 appetizers, 2 entries, 2 desserts and 3 beers all... More

Last week I visited the Pear Tree with 15 members Friendship Force Toronto Club for lunch after touring the beautiful Allen Gardens green houses. What a wonderful experience. The service was perfect, even as we arrived at varying times. The food was so good. We all had different meals and everyone was happy. It was so nice to get separate... More

We had a private room for our group in the back of the restaurant. Our server was pleasant and patient with our rowdy group and the food was very good. A very nice evening.

The gentleman who received us was accommodating and efficient, though apparently lacking any enthusiasm for being there. To give credit where due, he did take the trouble to seat us at a nicer table in the back, whereas there were easy, less-appealing choices in the front. Waiting for our table, we were greeted warmly by a young lady named Shelby,... More

We took advantage of the November month-long celebration of Peartree's 22 years in Cabbagetown, with a three-course fixed-price meal for two ($50). There is a nice selection of appetizers, mains, and desserts, all prepared with Peartree's typically reliable quality. We are regular customers, happy to support our neighborhood.

We stumbled across this place while in Toronto for a couple of days. There were only a few tables when we walked in, but by the time we left the place was almost full. The staff were friendly and with the huge menu, we ended up ordering far too much food - very generous portions too so good value!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
