We went in and noticed that there was a Winterlicious menu. The menu selection, for Winterlicious menu was good and the food was very tasty. The server was also very pleasant.

I really don't understand all the rave reviews...did I miss something? We came for a late lunch mid afternoon on a Saturday because we were in the area. I had something like a roti stuffed with avocado and veggies with a small green salad. It was good. My friend had the naanette, which was like a pizza or flatbread bruschetta.... More

Couldn't wait to try this place after reading about it on TA, they also have a really nice website. Were lucky to get a table outside on their patio, surrounded by pretty flowers and plants, we hardly noticed the traffic. Their spicy black bean hummus plate was delicious, as was the Heart and Crunchy Thai Salads with roasted chicken -... More

The decor details here are extraordinary. The meal was excellent. The menu is not extensive but offers good choices. I recommend the Maple salmon. Veg were well cooked, not overdone. Liquor choices and prices ok. This is a really nice quiet spot for date night. The service was alright. Kinda slow but we weren't in a hurry to rush our... More

It was a warm summer day so we walked down to little Italy to find a quaint spot for brunch. Kalendar fit the bill perfectly. The food was delicious (I had bacon and eggs and a croissant). The bacon was thick and extra good. Unfortunately, with my beautiful croissant, they served Kraft jam in the little packet, which did reduce... More

The inside is beautiful and the outside can be great to sit when weather is nice. I have been to this place a few times and the food/service can be hit and miss. We had visits where everything was great and visits where food/service was less than satisfactory.

We had really delicious food and drinks here, plus I just loved the setting. Really lovely décor inside and a very nice patio. I can see why this place is considered such a nice date spot. Very romantic! The service was also great. I highly recommend this spot for a charming dinner or lunch.

I'm writing this review in the hopes that the manager sees it. I have been to Kalendar 3 times now and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. But on the 3rd try, a hugely disrespectful thing was done - and I am usually the type to report it at the time but didn't because I was there... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
