This is a solid neighborhood bar. A good selection of drinks and beer. They have a "hooch hour". Delicious nachos and a weekend brunch. Good service.

I discovered this place for brunch a couple of years ago with my friend. Kids eat free by the way for brunch if you have any, always good to know. This is a gastro pub so the food prices are a tad higher but so is the quality of the food and local ingredients. I have never been disappointed here.... More

Always bad service. Bartenders are talking to girls rather than serving drinks. Drinks are watered down because not full ounce in mixed drinks. Racist to non-white people.

Our table service person Sella was so good, she knew the menu back to front, she sold us on the Poutine which was to die for... Me I had tie 16oz steak, Michelle my wife ordered... More

The name and the actual environment are very conflicting ... we were expecting a more cozy setting ... this is on the dark side and modern Although staff was very friendly and good was good ... the price a little on the high side We had the nauchos, chilli , and soup All very tasty but for the price could... Perfect for a casual night out! Upscale pub food with a quality wine & beer list and friendly, attentive service. Interesting daily specials. We will be back!

This place is almost never empty, at least a couple of locals are hanging around anytime. They have a great selection of beers on tab and great happy hour offerings, the food is a step or two up from the usual pub fare. Hardly ever had anything to eat there that I did not like, great service and many screens... More

Went here for a late dinner and dancing. Food was great. We are in our 30s and didn't feel too old with this crowd. DJ was great; kept us dancing all night. Fun times!

Another good meal at Prohibition. We had a couple dozen oysters along with Dinner and desert and took advantage of their Hooch hours for discount drinks. Overall a great experience, great service and tasty food.

Prohibition is a place I would take my friends or a first date. It's nice inside with a very nice bar. Has a creative menu that really likes the use of duck fat. Their food is a little on the greasy side but it's tasty and home made. Good place and a good value.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
