When I found out that the "Bitter Waitress IPA" was actually from a brewery started by one of the waitresses, I was sold. The IPA was very good. The food was good and the restaurant design well done.

We liked this restaurant so much, we ate there twice. The duck flatbread pizza is amazing, salads were great and the cassoulet was divine. My drink (a cosmo) was one of the best I've ever had.

I went here for dinner solo, as I was travelling for business, arriving around 9 pm. The place was steady, but not slammed. Perhaps because I was alone (and female), my experience was different from the other reviewers, because I got zero attention from the (female) server. This was a sharp contrast to the table next to me (with three... More

My girlfriend and I enjoyed dinner here before seeing a show at Massey Hall. When we arrived the bar was busy (completely full) and the restaurant was approx 3/4 full. Thankfully, I made reservations and we were seated within 2-3 minutes of our arrival. We were promptly greeted by our server (I don't recall her name). However, having never been... More

Good Food, kitchen got meals our quick but the service from our waiter was useless. Friendly but he would disappear for an age while we sat and waited for him to return.

The allure was all in the name of the place with the crew we were trying to please but as it turns out, the food was pretty good as well! The choice of beer was quite extensive and our party of beer drinkers were happy to test out the samplers and more. No complaints about the beer! (But who ever... More

Great time. Nephew made his bucket list . Saw his idol the Boss . Had autobiography signed , then supper with his uncle . Great beer to start with then a Steak frites . Steak - bavette was a generous portion . Cooked to my liking and the fries are enough for me to go back anytime. European cut thin... More

Located between glass towers in a busy downtown Toronto street, the Beer Bistro is pretty much everything you’d expect it to be, if you are familiar with the typical European Brasseries. Split half and half between a bar and a restaurant area in a pleasant yet unremarkable setting, the atmosphere is warm, pleasant, and VERY noisy (it was at least... More

This place is definitely a hot spot in the city for craft beers and Belgium style food. The quality and quantity of beers are like no other place. The food is also of top quality. If you like mussels then this has to be your place. The staff are so friendly and are always willing to make your experience a... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
