The food was very good. The service was excellent, the waiter spoke french and english. And the price was ok too, I spent about $20 canadian dollars in the lunch.

My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant while out exploring. There was a lovely ambiance, with a lady singing, she was very good. The service was great, efficient yet polite and friendly. I had veal in cognac sauce which was fabulous, my husband choose pizza which was also very good. Leave space for the dessert, cheesecake and tiramisu highly... More

Food here is good, well prepared, and copious. My spouse is Italian and cooks, so he's very fussy and he was pleased enough to eat here twice over the course of our stay.

Our first evening in Montreal we dined at this rather charming and cozy restaurant not far from our hotel. The temps had dropped, the wind was howling and we wanted some good old fashioned Italian comfort food. After a glass of vino, we ordered the meatball appetizer and a pizza. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was just... More

This location was recommended by the hotel, Embassy Suites and was only a 5 min. walk. My wife had the Arugula and roast beet salad and I the Caesar, both were great. For our mains she had the lamb, three double bone chops in a Blueberry sauce with steamed crisp vegetables, excellent food and flavour. I had the lasagna with... More

My wife found this restaurant close to where she had her hair done and we thought we would give it a go. The atmosphere and the surroundings are pleasant as are the waiting staff. We both had veal limone washed down by a bottle of pinot grigio. The wine was good. The veal was tender and the portion size good.... More

My wife and I spent the day tromping all over Montreal and were to pooped to wander far for dinner. Luckily, as we were looking for someplace close to the Intercontinental Hotel were found Da Franco. We ordered some calamari and escargots and then ended up getting an order of mushroom risotto to top us off. The calamari was fresh... More

We went to this restaurant with business colleagues for lunch. We ordered different plates and the verdict from everybody: the food was okay, but nothing more. Will not go back. There are good places to eat lunch in Montreal, and this is not one!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
