The interior is great in this place! Lots of character Ordered 4 dishes total - they were all "pretty good" nothing to die for Too expensive! Mixed drinks were mixed terribly, flat gin, watered down different drink. ugh.

Went for a business meeting here with about 8 people. Service was good but the food was honestly terrible. The oysters we received (zero chef involvement) were fresh and well shucked! Entree was the burrata - essentially a bowl, ball of cheese with some rolls of jamon serrrano, drenched in olive oil. I get the cheese (again not something you... More

Arrived in Montréal with no sleep, a full day of meetings, and wanted my one evening that would not be a business dinner to involve something delicious in a warmly welcoming setting unlike something I could find at home. Found it! + Ambiance Romantic and charming. The dining room is small, grotto-like with candles and chandeliers, lots of stone and... More

Ordered the $56 halibut special and, honestly, no kidding, really this happened, trust me on this....two strips of what appeared to be a grilled fish totaling MAYBE four ounces TOTAL appeared on my plate adjacent to what appeared to be either mashed potatoes or a very weak polenta. Each strip was 5/8 " X 6" TOPS! Have NEVER been offered... More

Hello, We are proud to offer a short menu with some classics and a wide variety of price ranges and accessibility. While our regular menu is there to please on all occasions our market course is there to feature products that are more exclusive and less accessible. Last week's market course was a Ocean Wise certified Black Cod served with... More

My husband and I visited Barocco at the end of October. The restaurant is located on beautiful Rue Saint Paul in Old town Montreal. It is a beautiful building in a quaint location and the interior is warm and inviting. The food was exceptional! I had the short ribs and my husband had the chef's special chicken. He said it... Astounding. Great autumn salad, incredible bluefin tuna, wide variety of alcohol selections, many local gins and house-made tonic. Bar seating was a plus, but the entire interior looked great!

My wife and I went to Barroco while in Montreal for the weekend. Our serve Ayoob was excellent and very knowledgable with the menu, evening specials and wine. If your just looking for some apps and wine, the cheese platter, meat platter and the taste of Autumn salad along with their oysters were perfect! Please ensure you book your reservation... More

Quite small restaurant in Old Montreal. The decor suits the location, lots of stone walls, bricks, wood, very old Quebec style, so we were looking forward to a great evening dining. We were warmly greeted, and service was very good throughout the evening. The food was, at best average. My braised beef short rib (1 long rib, 1 short piece... More

Description
At Barroco you can expect to enjoy inspired French Mediterranean fare in a warm and cozy atmosphere. With its dim lighting, stone walls and inspired decor, we offer fine dining that is chic but certainly not stuffy! Our friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff will do everything to make sure your experience is a memorable and enjoyable one. Reservations are highly recommended as our small 45-seat dining room tends to fill up quickly! We'll be happy to speak to you on the phone or you can head over to Bookenda to book a table. Looking forward to seeing you!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
