Visiting Montreal for business for a few days in March and walking in the "Montréal en Lumières" street festival by -21 C was a special experience with street concerts, outdoor fireplaces and activities. Stumble on a small glass pavillion housing this Taverna F which is an offshoot of its more established older sister and lically renowned Ferreira. It brings simple... More

This was our second visit roughly a year apart and the whole experience was all we remembered and expected and more. We started off with Archibald Microbrewery Joufflue which was the perfect accompaniment to our dinner. We selected the burger and were informed it was cooked in a unique way that allowed the meat to still be on the rare... More

I was there in January for a business dinner. The food was spectacular and the service was excellent. I would definitely go back again with friends and family.

A comfortable, friendly place to eat. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The portion sizes are good. Not over sized. As an outpost of the well-known Ferreira it is excellent. The wine list features Portugese wines, a tad pricey if you ask me. Reservations definitely required.

We went to see a show at Place des arts last night and Taverne F is an excellent choice for a pre- show meal. They serve smaller plates similar to tapas but larger and we can easily share. The food is excellent and I strongly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is in the heart of Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal and near the metro station. The food ordered was nicely presented. The churrasco was plated in a small cast iron pan, but was a bit dry and under-seasoned. The appetizer tremoços e azeitonas had some under-cooked beans, while the home-made french fries and fried calamari tasted healthy. Service... More

We needed something close to our hotel as it was late, pouring rain and we didn't want to pay for a cab. A quick 2 blocks from out hotel as recommended by our concierge and it was a great recommendation. So goo that we went back again which is saying something as there are a lot of great restaurants in... More

I really enjoyed the vibe at this restaurant - lively but not bustling and noisy. Adding to the ambiance is the glass wall that provides a view of the plaza and fountains just outside. The menu features an assortment of small plates. I chose the foie gras as an appetizer. It was served with quince jam, a gingerbread crisp and... More

Taverne F in downtown Montreal was the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy the Jazz Festival. MY husband and I ate here twice throughout the festival, as it is tapas, we were able to try almost everything on the menu. It was all delicious! The paella with shrimp and the burger were two of my favorites! Coupled with the... More

On a Saturday night, the restaurant is crowded, the noise level, pretry high. Don't expect a moment for romance. The tables are so close, everyone hear what you are saying. The food is correct, not exquisite and expensive dor what it is..

Description
Taverne F is Ferreira's new born from the Ferreria group. Located in the heart of the effervescent Quartier des Spectacles, in a luminous and relaxed atmosphere, Taverne F is a must for all foodies. Chef offers a savoring petiscos menu - word for portuguese version of tapas - in which he favors fresh market produce with a Portuguese touch! His inspiration? 'I hope to offer our clients perfumed, light and typical Mediterranean dishes, a region where I come from, along with Portuguese accents in which olive oil will be my sole instrument!' He explains with enthusiasm. The service is friendly and discreet which adds to the wonderful dining experience at Taverne F.

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
