Recommended by a local work colleague. Service was excellent and the food really tasty. Set menu for $45 with a good selection of mains to choose from. Fairly rich as you'd expect from French cuisine, but delicious.

The food is always superb. I love this place. The only problem with La Colombe is it's too good--rather, too popular. That is a fault many restaurants want but few deserve. La Colombe is so popular that it is difficult to dine here. Reservations are often needed and it is crowded--part of the charm for some. I enjoy dining out... More

Just returned from a superb dining experience at La Colombe. We were two celebrating my special birthday. Our server, Candy was professional.attentive, warm and friendly. Certainly a BIG asset to a very fine restaurant! We started with a delicious cream of asparagus soup, the only soup offered. As appetizers, I ordered the marinated octopus salad, served on a bed of... More

The food was good. A bit on the pricy side and the service wasn't the fastest. But the waitress was super friendly and helpful.

We were eight women celebrating a 50th and 60th birthday and we wanted it to be a perfect night and it was. The service was attentive, warm, friendly but not over bearing. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and not too noisy - we could hear each other talking! The food was excellent especially the main courses - succulent tasty... More

Many times I went to La Colombe to open a bottle of Grand Cru. The food was always matching the excellence of the wine. Open kitchen, small but nice and comfortable dining room. Great Food!

We have been there on Saturday night with a reservation made few days in advance. You definitely need a reservation if you want to eat at an early hour, but there were people walking in at around 8:30 p.m. and they found tables available. The resto is the best bring your own wine I ever tried but I can not... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
