Sushi was very good - quality of the ingredients were fantastic and everything we ordered was delicious. Dessert menu is limited, mainly sorbets and ice cream. Service was very slow, restaurant where sat was cold - other than that I'd recommend it.

Went here with some friends because we love Japanese. I would agree with most people that the service is a bit slow but that comes with its popularity. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the food exceptional and especially loved the teriyaki sauce (oddly, but it was soooooo flavourful and good!!!) The servers were nice, and the owner even came... Came here with my son. The ambiance was very nice, and service, while a little slow, was friendly. The sushi was pretty good, certainly fresh and nicely prepared. Not overly expensive, either.

We ate here on a recent Saturday. Fried calamari appetizer was very good, and our sushi was all fresh and very good. The sea bass was unique and very tasty. We didn't care for the scallop sushi, so it went uneaten. When the check came, the waiter has nicely removed that item from our bill. The atmosphere of the place... More

I am a sushi lover and seek it out in every city I visit. Mikado was good, but was missing that extra flair that would have made the food fantastic and I've had better. However, for sushi, the food is moderately priced and atmosphere is relaxed. The restaurant was busy when we visited, so the service was slow and somewhat... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
