Fantastic atmosphere for a dinner or drinks. Blues / jazz live music daily. Service is friendly but not overly efficient. Pricing is decent but portions are on the smaller side. Good selection of steak, chicken, lamb dishes.

We went here for dinner with my godson who is at McGill. We had a fabulous evening eating excellent beef and drinking red wine. There was a jazz ensemble playing who received huge applause.

Somehow trip advisor always forwards future customers’ questions to raters rather than the restaurant itself!! Not sure what private dining means. It’s rustic and busy but if you get a window table, it could be romantic.

Rack of lamb is about $40 and it goes down from there. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Description
Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.
