This restaurant is situated in the open lobby of the Hotel Nelligan, one of those charming boutique hotels found in Vieux Montreal. I have wanted to eat here for years, and finally made it, I was not disappointed. On the contrary. First off, the desk man, whose name I recall is Francois, was so accommodating when I stopped in to... More

My husband and I had dinner there last Saturday. We enjoyed the food very much and thought the waiter was particularly courteous and helpful in our choices. This place offers a pleasant atmosphere as well as a perfect location for a night out in old Montreal. We most certainly had a great experience at this restaurant, and want to give... More

Superlatives apply here in all categories. Delicious, creative and well thought out menu. Superb waite staff who are appropriately friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Our waiter, Dinner was unhurried in a romantic environment in spite of its "modernistic" decor. Our waiter, Martin, made it clear that the table was ours for the evening and made certain that our needs... More

The staff greeted us nicely and sat us in a cozy area of the restaurant right away. We ordered wine before dinner, it was served rapidly. We ordered from the Montreal à Table menu which offered plenty to satisfy. I had the salmon tartare and the braised lamb as well as the creme caramel. The wine list offered affordable and... More

The meat was unevenly cooked. Incomplete plating of food with random missing components. Very nice ambiance. The staff were friendly. Overall, the only disappointing meal I had in Montreal.

We were there for the MTL a Table event. The restaurant offers valet parking but we didn't use it. The decor is very warm and cozy, perfect for a cold November evening. Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
