We stopped here twice during a week-long stay in Montreal, once because we purposely sought it out and again because it was convenient to where we were. The only food we ever tried was the roasted rosemary nuts, which were super small but sort of a perfect energizer to keep us moving and only like $2.50 or something. The beer... More

If you like beer this is the place for you. I was hoping to have a nice lunch but found the food just passable. Everyone around me left their plates unfinished as well. The menu is limited (take a look on their web site). The oak floor, unfortunately, has had it's day. The decor? is rustic? i.e. lots of old... More

This place has a nice selection of local brews that will satisfy all tastes. From whites to ambers to stouts to ipa's, there is something for everybody. The food is also pretty good.

Went here on a recommendation from a few locals while visiting and glad I did. Short walk from the metro and a vibrant 'Portland-esque' artsy neighborhood. Large tap list of local beers with very knowledgable and friendly servers.

Stopped in here in search of cask ale. Unfortunately, being as it is a busy season for festivals, they were out. However, the beer menu was extensive and included many options of each type of beer as well as several ciders and wine. The atmosphere was nice with a large window open to the street, quiet enough to hold a... More

Didn't sample their food, but the menu looked very interesting. Instead tried a range of their 30+ draft beer offerings. Lots of options from local micro-brewers. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Very near the Jean Talon Market and Little Italy pizzas, so a great stop on any Montreal beer tour.

When we were walking around it started to pour and we decided to stop for some wine. We went to the first place and they told us because of restoration we all needed to have food on our bill to drink and suggested we go here. The place was just opening so the only reason it gets four stars and... More

We went here as part of beer tour. It was nice with good service. The beers were decent. We had appetizers that were also pretty good.

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
