This place is just amazing. I was introduced to it by a colleague back in 2009 and often take my friends from out of town. Their 22h00 menu is the best in town IMO. I think they were the originators of it and others copied them. This is a place my buddy and I like to bring new untested women... More

Having been there several times on previous visits to this great restaurant city, we were pleased to get a reservation at Lemeac again. Indulgent as well as healthy options so every one at the table was catered for. Service friendly and efficient. No first-class Montreal place is inexpensive but this meal was worth every penny.

A friend wanted french food while in Montreal. She could not accurately describe what she was looking for but thankfully our hotel staff knew of this place. We had escargot for an appetizer and duck confit for our meal. I fell that was some authentic french food, tasty to boot! We did not have a reservation but the bar was... More

We are here now and we had originally asked for a table for 2 inside the restaurant and called late afternoon up change it to 3 people to which she said "no problem". But when we arrived, there was a problem and it was that there were no tables available inside and when we complained, the hostess/manager gave us an... More

The atmosphere is nice and the service is great. You can even sit in the outside terrace that has been closed up for winter and heaters are functioning to keep customer warm. The brunch was great, although the "œuf bio tartelette de pomme de terre" was smaller than expected. The caffe au lait was tasteful and the beignet were delicious.... More

I've heard for years that this is supposed to be a very good restaurant. I love Montreal's restaurants and their wide range of bistros and fine dining. What a disappointment this was. I will not go chapter and verse through our dinner but it should suffice to say that three of the six diners were very disappointed with their main... More

I have dined at Leméac a number of times, and it is always delicious. Service is polished and they serve excellent wine by the glass. Well located on trendy Laurier Street, with a lovely terrace.

Simple and elegant. This spot in Outrement masters excellent French cooking. Slightly older crowd, but we felt welcome with our two young teens. Everything the four of us ate was excellent -fois gras, roasted duck, soups, ravioli, steak and both the frites and dessert are sort of essential here. Surprisingly Anglo crowd the night we were there. Large outdoor covered... More

A very popular eatery and rightly so - the food was really good - my wife's mushroom ravioli to start was full of flavor as was my crab cake. The main courses were the star though - we both went for the specials - my veal in a superb broth was terrific and my wife had the turbot - again... More

Went to this place on a tip from the owner of a scooter rental company and it did not disappoint. They have this amazing $25 special where you get all you can eat baguette, a fancy appetizer, a main, and your choice of coffee or tea! And the quality is not reduced at all from the regular menu! This is... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
