Stumbled upon this place in 2017 and 2024 didn’t disappoint! We found this fish restaurant back in 2017 while on a little drive. My husband and I had a fish platter and it was amazing and had often talked about it. Finally came back to...lanzarote this March and managed to find it again although it had been totally revamped and wasn’t sure if it was the same place! The food did not disappoint we once again had the fish platter. We managed to squeeze 2 visits in while here this time and also got to try Barracuda. Staff were attentive, local wine was great. I had 0.5litre for 8 euros and was perfect amount to compliment the fish. I just love this place and cant wait to come back and visit again 🫶🏻More

Small fishing village worth visiting for the excellent seafood restuarant overlooking the sea with the best cooked Barracuda fish

Waiters are kind but the fish of the day was very small and not well grilled. It was not carefully served. Too expensive. No tiramisu, no baraquito and more deserts not available. When leaving the restaurant the waiters were too busy discussing and could not...open the cord to let me go outside or answered my goodnight ….. This was the second time I had an unpleasant experience here so that’s why I write about it. It used to have a good name but I felt like a dump tourist which they a treat without any concern about their reputation.More

Our lunch today was at Restaurante Amenecer. Many of the restaurants in Arrieta were closed on a Tuesday so tables at this popular venue were even more in demand. We arrived just after 1 pm - we didn’t need to queue but there were no...tables available on the terrace so we had one in the main area. We selected the grilled fish - we understood that there would be a mixture of grilled white fish, as well as prawns, octopus, calamari and limpets. The platter arrived in timely fashion considering that most of the tables were occupied. The fish was cooked perfectly and there was plenty of variety. The meal came with a large side salad and the normal Canarian potatoes. We made a pretty good stab at finishing the meal. Desserts weren’t particularly exciting - we went for standard choices of cheesecake and creme caramel. One feature of service at this restaurant that we didn’t like was that all the wait staff tended to rush between the tables. This frenetic activity detracted from the dining experience.More

Lovely restaurant with a fabulous sea view. Very traditional menu. We ordered seafood soup and Canarian stew to start. Pork chops and grilled fish for mains. The food was excellent. The staff are friendly and all have a good sense of fun. The prices are...very reasonable and we would highly recommend a visit.More

Touring around the north of Lanzarote and looking for lunch we found El Amanecer on line, and, being fairly early, we’re fortunate to get a table overlooking the sea. The restaurant was clearly a local favourite and soon filled up and had a queue outside...Service was welcoming, good natured and polished The menu covers a raft of seafood and meat dishes - all that our family group tried were well cooked, presented and enjoyed. A real find !More

Very impressed! This is not a fancy Michelin-style restaurant but it provides excellent food at good value prices. Service is cheerful and efficient. Testimony to its quality is that tables cannot be reserved but you are able to join a queue for the next one...that becomes free. It difficult to understand how anyone could find fault with this restaurant. It is highly recommended. We have visited twice in the past few days and will return before our holiday is over.More

We ate here almost every night of our holiday. Stunning setting sitting right next to the water. Staff are so friendly and very attentive. Food is lovely and can highly recommend the local prawns on hot salt and the langoustines also the fillet steak melts...in the mouth. We ate here last year also and had the same experience so find it strange when we see negative reviews on the food and staff as this has not been our experience at all. Thank you for being a big part of our holiday and we hope to be back.More

This was without doubt, the worst and most overpriced meal we had in Lanzarote. On arrival at the restaurant, they make you wait at the entrance, took a while for any member of staff to notice us and a while longer for one of them...to attend to us and bring us to a table. Our table was one row off the seaside, not a full on view but still decent. The decor was simple and standard. One thing we noticed was the bread and we had to clarify twice to confirm this was not complimentary - this type of thing should be made evident and introduced as a hidden charge. We went for the mixed fish platter and whilst it looks fine when served, we soon thought otherwise. Firstly, the prawns were not fresh, it was evident given how the heads were already coming off - this would not be the case for fresh ones. Secondly, we found that the fish were not well descaled, still plenty of scales on several of them. Thirdly, the tuna steak did not seem properly cooked, parts of it were still pink. Moving on from the food, we also found the service lacking. When one of the tables on the seaside left, we asked a member of staff if we could be moved there. She said she would check and come back. We then heard another table make the same request and someone their request was granted. Overall, plenty of other options in this area, we would definitely steer clear of this establishment!More

We had a lovely table overlooking the sea, which we all enjoyed. We didn't find the waiting staff very friendly or helpful, and they all seemed fairly bored and uninterested. The food was quite nice, pretty standard fare- the dips and salad were fresh and...tasty. The location and views are the main draw here. What we didn't enjoy was the overall rushed feeling and impersonal service. We didn't feel particularly welcomed. Overall it was a nice lunch but we wouldn't hurry back.More

This was our second visit to the restaurant, the last being in 2016, and we had some good memories of our last meal here. The restaurant had been renovated at some point since then, and most of the tables have been placed nearer to the...enlarged back balcony overlooking the sea. First impressions were good and we were greeted warmly by the host and seated at the back corner table, directly next to the sea. The menu was perused and the food ordered. The starters arrived reasonably quickly as the restaurant started to fill up, they were ok but we were quite hungry so they went quickly. There was then a little bit of a wait for the mains to come. By this point the whole of the balcony and much of the restaurant was full. After about 25 minutes our food arrived. I was a little disappointed with the presentation but we were still hungry so we ate. My partners dish was so so, but my squid dish was just bland. The squid was starting to turn pink meaning it was not fresh (fresh squid remains white when cooked), and furthermore part of it was just not cooked at all, which is not what I expected from a “seafood” restaurant. I tried to get the attention of the servers but although I was acknowledged by several, nobody came to our table, they were all too busy with the other tables. After about 20 minutes my partner had finished her meal , which she said had no seasoning, and we decided to get up to leave hoping to get some sort of reaction from the servers, but alas we were still being ignored. We complained to the host who was quite shocked and upset that we had suffered such poor service. He apologised profusely. We paid and left. I can fully appreciate that the pandemic has made things very tough for small businesses in tourist areas but It’s a shame that our previous good experience was not repeated.More
