I went in to watch footy and had a couple of pints (no food). Only one real ale on but it was in good nick and priced well for Topsham. Perfectly fine for my needs.

I am writing this review as the landlady, as i am unable to access my response at this time. But all of the previous review is total fabrication and actually everyone working was over 40, plus the young girl in question who picked her belongings up after swearing at the landlord, had only just come onto shift. I am sure... More

We went to The Lord Nelson on a February Friday night. The pub was warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. We have never been there before but will return when we are in the area

As has been pointed out in other reviews this pub is of the sports bar type. I wouldn't have a romantic meal here but for a great value lunch it takes some beating. On a Wednesday lunchtime (when they do a roast dinner special) the typical clientele would be elderly locals making the most of the great value. I have... More

We had a Sunday Lunch here which was average at best very long wait in dank surroundings but was relatively quiet, we can't understand the wait. However, when we left we wandered around the village to the shops, on our return we were confronted by an Irate landlord accusing of using "HIS" car park berating up for being for customers... More

No atmosphere, barman not very interested. Felt dingy & scruffy, 1 drink and we left. Couldn't say what food would be like but certainly wouldn't want to eat there. Noisy at night.

Visited on Wednesday which turned out to be steak night....2 steaks and bottle of wine £20....what a bargain !! The steak meals were excellent and the young man who served us extremely hospitable. Would definitely go there again.

We arrived late for lunchtime but were able to be served! The bar/waiting staff were helpful and friendly. My wife and I had hot roast meat rolls with roast potatoes and gravy. My pork was very tender as was my wife's beef. Great pint of local micro brewery beer. Would definitely go again.

I would just like to praise the two folks who worked last night (12/08/16), and I'm sorry I didn't get your names. I had a particular bad experience in the Passsage where we went to eat last night. The customer services was horrendous, so my husband and I walked out and decided to go to The Nelson. From first approaching... More
