Superb food and excellent service from this family who have served the community for many years. They are our Chinese eatery of choice. The food is always hot and well cooked always refer friends to this restaurant and take away......Simply the best
Had the best Chinese takeaway from here the other day. Good selection of dishes and prices are good for what you get. Honestly the best Chinese around and would definitely be going back for more. Very friendly and great customer service too.
It was a disappointment when the Pholik closed late last year, so the eagerly awaited anticipation of the re opening did not disappoint, the food was of the same excellent quality with only a slight increase in price, with a very attentive service. just now NEW I have been going to the Phonlik House for roughly 25 years and it is still, to this day, the absolute best meal going. I now live in London, but every time I come back to Solihull I insist on ordering a...meal from this restaurant. The people who run the place are wonderful, and the food is always fantastic. I have eaten at some excellent restaurants all over the world, but I’ve always considered the Phonlik House to be my favourite place to go. This is a brilliant restaurant with great service. A local legend. Just eat here and love it!More
I came here last month with family members. It is a pleasant place to eat. The owners were very friendly, and gave us a good welcome. Food good, if a little bland. It could do with some decor for those who eat in.
It has come to this point, I'm having to write this review. Having been regularly visiting this restaurant, recently on 3 occasions we have been told there are no tables available when only 3 tables were occupied, and on one occasion being a Saturday, we...were told we should've known better to book. All of this happened in 2022. We find the staff extremely rude and abrupt, no appreciation at all, given the times are getting harder. They don't deserve my money. On many occasions whilst eating, staff have come over to our table to take away our dishes and then apologising as it was very clear we hadn't finished our meal. Every visit seems very rushed from the moment we sat at the table and constant prying eyes, it becomes a little off when you realise the staff keep looking at your table, as if we're going to run off with the table and chairs. Yet, they are pleasant with people collecting their take away. On several occasions in the past, we visited only to have coffees, and on our last occasion we were told they never serve only coffee, we have to have a meal. So what happened to the previous times when we ONLY had coffee??? NO LONGER RECOMENDED!!! It is very clear the owners don't want to be there, one would think its time to sell.More
This restaurant never fails to deliver. We've been coming for over 20 years. We tried different dishes and all were flavoursome and delicious. Great service too, staff very attentive and helpful. Best Chinese food in the area.
Food bland, chicken was tender which was one positive. Ordered a special curry which consisted of chicken, two mushrooms and onions. Not really what was expected. Asked staff and was told it was a special curry! Wont be back!
I love their food; so fresh, plentiful and great service. It makes an easy night out. It’s also family friendly which makes a big difference.

We have been loyal and regular customers at the Phonlik for many years. However our visit at the weekend left us utterly disappointed, ripped off and sadly we will not be returning again. The food was tasteless and of very poor quality. If you are...trying to cut corners to try and gain some revenue back - dont do it! It will backfire and you will lose many more customers. The head waiter was also very rude and curt and couldnt wait to get us to eat, pay and leave, that was very obvious.More
As above disgusted last time I will visit this restaurant.I purchase two fillet steaks with curry sauce. Salt & pepper ribes Cost me £35. Take it home could not eat it disgusting. We have all way supported. This restaurant so now after 26 years of...supporting them no more. Learn a lesson phonglic. Respect your supporters. I will never darken your door step again. We have recently started using the Phonlik as we have been regulars at the Dorridge Cantonese but unfortunately they have starred to take “the mick” and have become complacent with their delivery times (1 hour late on one of our meals and didn’t care!) and...the quality of food has gone downhill! So happy we have switched, not only can we walk to the restaurant the food is way way better. Ribs are awesome and the Crispy Beef was very tasty and did contain beef unlike some restaurants where you only receive batter! Chicken Curry excellent and our overall meal today was fantastic. The owners are polite and happy to have a conversation with you and their customer service is also excellent. Even though the meal is more expensive I don’t mind paying the extra to receive quality food. Will definitely be using as our regular for our Chinese Takeaway.More
Food was excellent, have to be honest I didn't like the look of the cubed carrots and veg in the beef schechuan but they tasted lovely, sweet and sour pork was so nice although pork was very tough to eat, chips were beautiful and barbecue...spare ribs were the best I have ever had, they were not fatty as I can't eat them if they have fat on and they were nice big ribs too and sauce was yummy, prawn crackers are gorgeous there, portion sizes were very very good and this will definately be our regular takeaway from now onMore
