We were staying in a beautiful cottage nearby and came here twice during the week - once for dinner and once for lunch. On both occasions the food was excellent. On the first occasion we booked online for a table for four for dinner. N...problem except that when we arrived early that evening we hadn't taken into account how busy the place would be. As the table was next to the bar it was quite noisy and a bit cramped. But the quality of the food made up for that. I had the belly pork and washed it down with Timothy Taylor's Havercake ale. Delicious. On the second occasion we came with the extended family for lunch and we sat further away from the bar in a side room (as such). This was much better, being a lot quieter. All 7 of us chose different things to eat and drink. We particularly found the dirty chips to be fun. And there were a lot of them. Service on both times we visited was warm, friendly and efficient. By the way, there is sufficient free parking which was helpful given the narrow streets in this little village.More
