A must-see when visiting Zanzibar! The food was great, although rather expensive (converting rands to dollars!) but it is worth it - after lunch it is highly recommended to enjoy a few dollops of gelato on the on the deck

The Rock itself is amazing...and worth the visit! Pricey and slow service but who can complain as you look out on the most spectacular view imaginable?!? I was glad we could just walk down the beach for our visit...the Boutique Hotel Matlai is REALLY where you want to be!

This is one of the most original place we have eaten - really extraordinarily located in the sea. The food is not that important - can't have it all!

We had a birthday dinner at The Rock. It is highly recommended to book your table well in advance. The service is very friendly and fast compared to the other restaurants on Zanzibar. The food is good but not impressive. Prices are fair.

What an amazing spot for a restaurant. Amazing views which take your breath away. Worth a visit to check out the terrace views and novelty of this restaurant.

You come here for the view and to have a drink or a meal on a rock in the ocean off the coast of Zanzibar. The food was good but it is definitely overpriced- but you are obviously paying for the view and the dining experience. It is the sort of place you would go for a birthday or special... More

So the restaurant is obviously located in an amazing spot... as long as you don't mind paying a pretty penny, then go have dinner or lunch here. But beware, you WILL pay a lot for a small portion. We felt like our meals were expensive and you received very small portions.

A small exclusive restaurant that is definitely worth a visit. Extremely memorable with breath-taking views and so unique to be on a Rock ! You have to try it just to experience the setting.
