The Cork House is a Wine Bar & Restaurant situated in Stansted Mountfitchet, close to Stansted Airport. We welcome all of our customers to enjoy a drink, a meal or both in stylish but traditional surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere. Downstairs boasts our spacious and cosy bar area, where you’ll be sure to find a great selection of wines, beers, cocktails and, of course, an amazing array of gins! Upstairs you will find our restaurant, serving delicious fresh food from an a la carte style menu which is constantly evolving and served from Tuesday to Sunday! The Cork House is open from midday seven days a week and open until midnight at weekends. We provide a dining and bar service that rivals the very best, with knowledgeable and friendly staff that stive off making your visit as amazing as possible. After a little bit of strange hours / not doing food, change of staff, following the upheaval of lockdown, it looks like the Cork House is back in its swing.
We went on Friday, and the tapas menu is back - hurray!
The bar staff were great - friendly, welcoming and professional.
The chef, Tom, takes care over the food and loves what he does, and it shows.
Really lovely evening, thank you.

Lockdown Tapas. Ordered online (it's straightforward) ... Pickup at the door ... Slight wait cos Friday evening busy but heater is available. Very well packaged takeout box with recyclable containers. Recommend the chicken wings, meatballs, veggie nachos, chilli nachos, pork belly. Not convinced by the halloumi and brie... probably need to be eaten super hot. Didn't try the cocktails but looked good! Phone was going non-stop so recommend booking online and just adding message for any queries/special requests. Definitely recommended and worthy of a bit of lockdown love.

I went with 2 friends on Thursday evening for the gin tasting and tapas. Tapas were delicious, Gina the waitress and bartender was fab. She was fun, friendly and efficient. The gin tasting was great value, tried 12 different gins with the suggested herb or fruit available to go in it. Great fun, looking forward to going again in the new year.

So was taking my wife for her lunchtime birthday meal so on website it says opens at 2pm today Saturday 24th July. Having walked down there we find not open to 4pm.so rang at 4pm to book a table for tappas and told that they are not cooking today. So useless why advertise something you don't provide. If I could give no stars I would, not a way to run a business.

Popped in here as we were staying at a hotel at the airport and very glad we did - a great find. Lovely setting and the food was delicious. Big chunky calamari and one of the specials to start (sweet sticky wings with chilli coriander), followed by two steaks, mushroom sauce and onion rings. All fantastic. Very reasonably priced and the service was great too.

Extremely appalled at the disgusting customer service at the Cork House. The lady working was incredibly rude, who refused to serve a second drink! (Also had not been out for drinks prior)
Would not recommend for a friendly outing, as ruined a beautiful summers day. I sincerely hope anybody else doesn’t experience this outrageous behaviour.

So i was ordered to right this review by a young lady named Fran, and since it seemed like she may have had military training I'm inclined to follow the order!!!
Came here about 5 years ago with a friend and it quickly became one of my favourite spots on my through travels. Since I've been brining friends and worm groups everything I'm in the area. Can't get enough of this place !! Friendly ....great food great service, feels like home away from home.

Popped in for a late lunch around 2pm last Friday lunchtime; chef Michael did us proud. The chicken supreme in a wild mushroom was delicious. The squid side was fresh as you like and the pulled pork scotch egg terrific. Hazel said her pear and blue cheese salad was delightfully balanced.
We shall return. Recommended.

What a fabulous night. The waitress Katie was so good, very helpful, informative and a wonderful personality. Attentive throughout the evening. We had the tapas and they were amazing, hot and served quickly. Will definitely go back

Looks small from the outside, but don't be fooled. All good things come in small packages. Friendly welcome, good beers and wines. Haven't tried the food yet but please support your local businesses like this, as they deserve it

We did the cocktail masterclass followed by tapas. It was so much fun, and food was delicious. There was a live singer too. It felt like a real treat!
