From the very 1st discussion about renting out the room for my mums surprise 70th Birthday party I knew we were in safe hands. We opted for the cold Buffett to serve our guest and it was 1st class. Nothing was to much trouble. Would...definitely recommend and will definitely use it in the future.More

We were driving past and decided to drop in for lunch because we like the look of the establishment. We were warmly welcomed and and our drinks order was taken without delay and our drinks were served quickly. There was a good choice on the...menu. My wife is Gluten Free but this did not cause any problem. My wife had sea bass and I had scampi. The food was well presented and tasty and the portion sizes were ample and good value for money. A bonus was that the bar is a dog friendly area. A very good lunch served, efficiently, by friendly staff.More

I visited on Saturday lunchtime with a friend. We were warmly greeted by Jenny who apologised in advance that they were short staffed that day - to pre-warn us of possible delays. Despite this, our order was taken promptly and our food arrived without much...of a wait at all. We both chose burgers which were absolutely delicious - best I’ve tasted for a long time. All in all we had an excellent lunch with excellent service. Well done to Jenny and all at the G&D - not all establishments are able to cope so well when they are short-staffed.More

Lunch at The George & Dragon has always been a joy but sadly not today. I ordered a selection of charcuterie from the specials board as a starter and was presented with a half inch thick slice of salami and a slice each of cold...roast beef and pork, four pieces of bread, a bowl of olives and sad little spoonful of salad. The usual French chef would have had a fit! I think his stand-in should Google charcuterie. It refers to finely sliced meats such as salamis and parma type and smoked hams and so on and one might also expect pâtés, olives, gherkins and the like. Really shouldn‘t have been on the menu. To give them their due the cost was removed from the bill. My Labrador very much enjoyed her unexpected treat!More

We recently moved to the neighbourhood and could not be happier to have this as our local pub. We have been here twice: once for dinner and once for drinks in the garden. Both times service, food and drinks were fantastic. We will be back...soon.More
