Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We really enjoyed our visit to Ebb Carr’s . It had been a few years since we had been but as soon as we pulled up in the harbour car park my daughter remembered she had had fish soup here seven years ago !! I was glad we enjoyed the Cullen Skink here again . The soup is simply delicious . I was torn between that or a crab sandwich as I often think about the crab sandwiches I have eaten here in the past as they are always delicious too. I hope we manage to drop by again on our trips to visit family in Edinburgh . St Abb’s harbour is beautiful and lucky to have such a great cafe

This cafe is the ideal place to refuel if you are taking a walk along the gorgeous Berwickshire coastline.
Portions are hearty, service friendly (and covid compliant) and all is to the glory of the simple, heavenly seafood that graced our plates. Between 4 of us we had mussels, mackerel pate and crab baguette. All were great but I cannot remember tasting better mussels in the last few years, big fat boys in a rich wine and leek sauce went well with big portions of frites.
It was all quite cheap as well.....

Always come here at least once when we visit the area. Crab sandwich and Cullen skink are the main draws. The children also enjoyed a cheeseburger and a sausage sandwich.
Feeling hungry I added in a tuna melt panini which was also very good. Only soft drinks this time, but The Mrs has enjoyed the rose in the past.
We only did savouries today but there are a good selection of cakes too.
They aren’t taking part in the dine out scheme and you can’t book.

After visiting a couple of years ago we were looking forwards to a revisit for lunch. I know it was busier but the staff were really unfriendly and service was perfunctory at best. The Cullen Skink was tasty and tea was good but the people behind the counter and serving seemed to just want to serve and get rid of people.
I am staying in St Abbs next year and just hope the attitude of staff gets better.

Great little cafe, had the crab baguette and unusually for me a cherry topped cheesecake. Both great. Partner had gluten free version but sadly no GF cakes or sweets available from a big selection.
Social distancing seemed OK while we were visiting and tables, salt pots etc.were being cleaned when tables were cleared.

Was staying at St Abbs lighthouse so made sense after a walk along the cliff tops to stop for an early lunch. We visited on both our first full day here, Sunday and on our last full day here, Friday and both times did not disappoint. A fresh crab sandwich and a tray bake for early lunch Sunday around 11:30am sat outside and Friday treated myself to a whole lobster fresh from the sea that morning with a glass of rose. All about the experience, sitting in the harbor eating local fresh produce. Had clean toilets and was good value for money

Went on a visit to St Abbs today and found this gem of a place. Great selection on the menu. We both had crab baguette - lovely! And best of all it is licensed so it was washed down with a glass of wine. Amazing selection of homemade treats too, need to come back to sample more of the menu

Brilliant cafe in a lovely village. Plenty of outdoor seating and a large menu with cakes, soup, sandwiches and even a whole lobster! My husband opted for the Cullen skink which was delicious and I couldn’t resist the well priced fresh lobster. Staff were friendly and efficient!

It's always a warm and friendly welcome at The Ebb Carr's Cafe. The staff are always ready to give outstanding service with a lovely smile and a chat. The menu is full of lovely local food, all freshly prepared and presented beautifully. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Cullen Skink, it's delicious, real comfort food on a cloudy, grey day. The desserts and cakes are fabulous. A meal here is a real treat at little cost in a lovely part of the world.

The food was OK and what you would expect to pay but everything seemed so chaotic and rushed. The place was busy but not full but it seemed very much like a production line. Service was slapdash with the plate pushed across the table, rather than placed. No cutlery given, noone seemed to know what table had placed which order so it was a case of employees shouting, 'who ordered xxx'. Wish I had done more research as on the way out of the village there seemed to be nicer places.

We popped in on a visit to the harbour; the staff are very welcoming, and the food is very well cooked. The Cullen Skink is wholesome and warming, and the potato wedges are among the best I've eaten. highly recommended.

We visited the cafe after a recent trip to St Abbs. We have heard many good things so thought it was worth a try.
We decided upon takeaway cakes and drinks. The cakes were nice but I thought £8 for 2 slices of cake and 2 x cans of pop were a little on the expensive side!

Just called in here with friends today after the long walk over the headland. Not madly busy. We have been here before and it’s been okay - but really not good today. Our cakes were dry and just crumbled. The rice “crispy” slice was soggy and awful. We did complain and the lady offered something else - but as all of us thought the quality of our cake was really poor we declined.
No excuse for poor food standards these days. So many good cafes around. We would not recommend and will not spend our money here again. Not good enough!

What a brilliant wee cafe this place is! Ebb Carr’s offers your typical cafe menu... with the addition of stunning, fresh lobster! We went for the lobster and salad and the haggis and cheese panini with fries. Everything was just perfect for when you’re absolutely starving! The lobster was beautiful and the panini was so hearty. Great, quick service.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
