Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Asked in polite French for a menu. While walking away I got some reply I didn't understand or could really hear. Waited a bit then went inside to ask in English and waiter got impolite straight away. Mentioning he had "clearly" told me they didn't...serve food after 14h. I asked him why he was walking away while telling me, keeping me from even asking what he was saying. He didn't agree and either way they had stopped serving. All in a way like I should have guessed. Which I commented on and that we wouldn't be stopping here again in the week we were staying in town. He followed me outside to tell me in front of the guests sitting outside that I shouldn't be expecting french ppl to speak English, that I was lucky he did and I should have practiced my French before coming here. I'm baffled. Update, my husband went in to pay and ask why the waiter was so rude. He didn't get far, the bloke started swearing in English and told us to leave the premises, he didn't care we didn't pay, but to immediately leave. I can understand if readers think more happened to get such a reaction from the waiter. But nothing else happened. This is all about me asking for a menu and asking again, but in English that I didn't understand his reply and why he gave me no chance to explain I didn't understood his reply.More

Good simple French food, good wine and efficient service. Quirky interior and lovely atmosphere. The owner seems quite a character and seems to decide whether he is going to like you or not! He seemed to like us (phew!)Not the cheapest, but good value for...the quality of the food. Delicious cider too.More

If you close your eyes and imagine a perfect Normand bistro with a modern twist then you will imagine this place. The maitre d' looked very familiar, maybe an actor in his spare time?? Wonderful ambiance with an interesting but authentic menu. Good value for...money and excellent house wine. A gem of a find!More

We have been to this place three times. We loved it on our first visit and had a beautiful Thai Fish in a dish, hot and beautifully cooked. The desserts were wonderful choices too. The owner looked after us very well and he was very...attentive and friendly. The lady at the bar didn't appear to be as friendly but showed us to a table and was respectful. On our second visit we were showed immediately to the same seat, at the back of the restaurant away from regulars who were seated at the front. Same reception from the lady at the bar but the food was as good. The third visit we decided to go for an Anniversary meal with family - seated at the same table, same reception but noticed the price had nearly doubled from our lunch time bookings for exactly the same meal. We haven't been back as a little disappointed in the double pricing structure and being placed at the back of the restaurant away from all of the local people each time we visited. The menus are not cheap but lovely food. The hospitality is not good at the bar apart from the male owner.More

We took lunch here when passing through town towards the vet. Service was speedy and friendly with some decent English spoken. The menu had English translations too. We both chose the cheeseburger and fries with a Coca Cola. I ordered my burger medium rare and...my wife ordered well done, when they arrived they were both perfectly cooked to our liking. We very much enjoyed our meal and followed it with another ice cold Coca Cola. They've got five stars from us because of the quality of the food and the fact they offered water for our dog. Lunch was €34More

Our hosts recommended this restaurants and it was just the best. My husband and I ordered the cote de boeuf and it was amazing. We spied the Profiteroles and had to order them and we have never tasted anything so divine - a must!

We live approx 20 Kms from the restaurant but we gladly make the journey at least once if not twice a month. For us, it is the best bistro in the region .The atmosphere is warm and charming. The owners are absolutely delightful. The husband...and wife team could not make you feel more welcomed. She is a lovely lady and he is a great chef. Now for the food: Typical bistro menu, everything is fresh and locally produced . We love the Cote de Veau aux pleurottes, their Bavette or Entrecote, and their burgers are to die for.... The desserts are delicious and all home made. Nice choice of wines at reasonable prices. The region is barren of good quality restaurants that are not over priced, so for us it is a benediction that they exist . Last but not least Cormeilles is a very pretty village.More

We ate at Aux Diables Verts this weekend for the third time in 3 months and enjoyed it as much as ever. The owners, Marc and Caroline, are extremely kind and welcoming, the decor is delightful and the food is well-prepared French bistro-style cuisine. I...have a particular weakness for the hachis de canard. Miam!More

The Duck was lovely, but the chips were from a packet and greasy. No vegetables came with the dish. Dessert was gorgeous, would eat there again but the other options in the village are better

One of the best restaurant around Deauville. The owner ( Canadian from Montreal) and his partner have created a real "atmosphere". Real cuisine from the region, amazing veal "a la Normande", great wine list. Don't hesitate to drive 20 miles if you are in Deauville...!More

This is one of our local restaurants, the food is good, but the atmosphere is not the best. It is a great place to order a coffee and sit outside watching the world go by, but I prefer the Bar du Haras just down the...road. It feels more French than Parisien.More
