Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited for a lunch bite and ordered a tuna melt paninin a Mexican Quesidilla which were both very tatsy. It did take however about 30 minutes to get them without a queue in front of us - but it was prepared freshly. I also had a cappachino which was good too 😁

Ordered a takeaway vegetarian afternoon tea. We picked it up and atell it in my garden. The sandwiches were delicious and a wonderful vegetarian assortment including some freshly baked vegetarian sausage rolls. The scones came with clotted cream and Strawberry jam. They were freshly baked and the cakes and tray bakes were amazing. There was so much of everything we were unable to eat it all but left some for later. Highly recommend it!

Full disclosure, it’s not my first visit During this tricky period of lent, being tempted by chocolate heaven is not always the best way to stay pure of heart, but occasionally a small sin is worth the penance. MJ has battled through hell to keep her business open and her staff in jobs and they perform miracles on a daily basis. From feeding the 5,000 to walking on water, nothing is too much trouble for these disciples. Your pilgrimage will be well rewarded. If only they would hurry up and get licensed so they can start turning water into wine! Can I get an Amen in here?!

I had heard reports that the sausage rolls were of the highest quality so I took a large detour to sample them. Dear me , the only sausage rolls on offer this morning contained APRICOT . Shock and Horror . Left without purchasing anything . They will get no business from me . Later I stopped at a Greggs in Edinburgh . 10 out of 10 .

Belting review PotatoPete - you've made my day. Apologies for your wasted detour, let us know next time you're swinging past and we'll buy you in a mass produced, greasy number from the Dundee Greggs (sans fruit/flavour/seasoning/taste) Thanks for making the effort though :)

So lucky to have this fantastic cafe on our doorstep 😃 staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had the avocado on sourdough with poached eggs - was delicious. My daughter and her friend both had beans on toast - perfect portion size and generous amount of beans. Couldn’t resist a few treats after. Coffee is amazing too. Would advise reserving a table if possible but staff did their very best to get us a table (we were very lucky to get one as it was fairly busy). There’s always takeaway too as an option with blankets and hot water bottles if sitting outside! So definitely an essential stop along the north east Fife coastal path.

Kitschnbake is a fabulous cafe and bakeshop and so delighted it’s made it through the last 2 horrendous years to still bring us fabulous food, coffee, cakes and other goodies. MJ and her crew have constantly put their customers and locals first while staying afloat in these unprecedented times. As a very frequent visitor for sit-ins and takeaways we’d highly recommend this place and now with our lockdown pooch addition, he’s always welcomed and enjoys his puppaccinos and treats too. Please show kindness to the team here and in other eateries - they’ve been at the brunt end of this awful pandemic and still trying their very best for us customers

We visited on Saturday 30th April at lunchtime and as I expected it was super busy. As it was nice out we would have happily sat outside, but we were lucky enough to get a table indoors with some people getting up to leave. The staff were efficient, friendly and working hard. Our coffee and scones were really good- in particular the blueberry and cinnamon scone. You can tell when someone puts time and care into their baking. We will be back to try more..or maybe something else from the lovely looking menu.

Thank you so much for our incredible festive themed wedding cakes. The Christmas pud shaped Malteser tray bake went down a storm, as did the delicious sausage rolls and mince pies. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I've been a few times to Kitschnbake and I've never once had a bad experience. Food is always great. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Always a 5 star experience. With all the new restrictions in place, I'm delighted to see Kitschnbake back open with the same fantastic cake choices. Meeting with friends, I very much enjoyed my pecan and maple cupcake with a cup of tea and a good natter outside in the sunshine. As always, high quality delicious goodies for my extremely sweet tooth. Everything was perfectly social distanced and the staff were great as always. The shop that is now inside is glorious! I might have to come down for another browse at all the fantastic items on sale and be tempted by a cake while I'm there. Glad to see a wee business that's been able to adapt in these strange times. I'm sure my niece will really love her new baking apron with monsters on it too!

Had a fabulous dinner experience at this friendly cafe/bakery/diner. Small dinner menu but would be sufficient suit all tastes. The Chilli was superb as was the Salmon following on from the selection of ultra-fresh breads and dips for starters. Not much of a dessert fan so didn’t try what was on offer but if desserts/cakes are your thing you would be spoiled for choice here. Amazing display of sweet treats which all seem to have been freshly created/baked on the premises. Some quirky decorative features which add to the overall ambience accompanied by the warm and friendly welcome from Ellie on front of house. Really can’t fault it. Overall. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which we will repeat.

Fantastic friendly service and food, they went above and beyond to satisfy a scone craving for me (with my desired accompaniments even as a takeaway customer). Have always had a great experience eating in or taking away. We are so lucky to have such a brilliant local cafe which is open 7 days a week now. Highly recommend a visit.

A short wait for a table was not an inconvenience in this busy little cafe. The breakfasts that were ordered were delivered speedily but the quality was lacking. The bacon, square sausage, and eggs were overcooked with the haggis, black pudding and potato scone greasy, with no thought given to presentation. The other three breakfast dishes were nothing special, and the strawberry milkshake lacked any strawberry flavour. I think this review is fair and based on my visit I would not recommend this cafe.

The title says it all- I really do love everything about Kitschnbake! The staff are lovely, so friendly and happy to help, the atmosphere is welcoming and the food is incredible. We are regular customers and everything we've ever had to eat from Kitschnbake has been perfect; they are our go to for special occasions, weekend brunch/lunch, randomly popping in for cake just to get us through the working day, and often just for one of their delicious coffees. Kitschbake is a wonderful business and I wholeheartedly recommend!!

What a lovely place to visit for lunch , breakfast or just coffee and cake. Easy free parking. Delicious scones. Staff always willing to go the extra mile. What a warm welcoming atmosphere. Last visited for lunch 31/3/22 , delicious veg haggis / smoked applewood and chilli jam baguette, with side salad and crisps . A lemon slice to finish 😋. Looking forward to lunch again this week ! Totally worth the trip over the bridge .
