We had a nice meal but not fantastic. I would suggest they are a Tapas or Italian Restaurant. Some of the tapas was excellent but the meat balls were quite hard and tasted having been made with cheaper qaulity mince beef. The Pizza was very good, as was the fillet steak but needed to be hotter. Mentioned this to the waiter who stated he had told the chef and he apparently replied thank the customer for his comment. I must say I would have rather had an apology, as I always feel it is such a shame when good food is not served at the right temperature and it was a good steak.

My first visit to this place, but it won't be my last. A very warm welcome by the waitress who continued to provide excellent, friendly service for the duration of our visit. I enjoyed the pizza very much and it was a nice touch to be able to order a slightly smaller version with a very elegant pile of salad on the side. My two friends chose a different pasta dish each which they also enjoyed - it's not often you see clean plates with us when the portions are so generous! I even had dessert which is unknown for me - the mandarin & prosecco sorbet was too good to pass up and my friend was delighted to see cassata on the menu. All in all, the best Italian meal I've had in Cornwall, topped off with delightful service means a return visit will soon be in order.

This gaff was excellent. Booked the week before to avoid disappointment. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted with a smile from a friendly face, coats taken from us and was seated immediately. The restaurant is what I would call swanky and the staff were super attentive, constantly checking everything was OK. Had the prawns with chilli for starters from the specials and was encouraged to have the duck with mini roast and greens. It was bloody fabulous, so tasty, perfectly cooked. Hubby had same started and fillet steak, so lean and tender, perfectly seasoned. Only criticism....mash could've done with a tad more butter to make them creamy. Closes a lil early at half 9, would have loved to have stayed for drinks. Social distancing is OK and they are trying with such a small venue. Please remember to tip, these guys are all working in extreme conditions, putting themselves at risk for our pleasure. Show them your appreciation, our waitress was so grateful for the £10 tip but it was worth every penny. Good value for money Defo not to be missed

Went to The Bridge for dinner this evening. Walking in to a particularly friendly and welcoming waiter was an excellent first sign, as was the wonderful selection of house plants on display. The menu was disappointing and inauthentic, reading like a plagiarised dominoes rather than a genuine Italian. It may be ideal for families with fussy teenagers though. Food choices also felt poorly structured, for example olives on the table but also with the charged serving platters. Quality of the pizzas was also underwhelming, pizzas were bland and overtopped leading to a lifeless quality. Despite this there was an excellent, smokey aubergine dish served with starters which I would heavily recommend. The quality of the meat and pasta dishes also looked good. To the restaurants and the staffs credit, they hosted well and offered money off the bill, with no word of complaints from ourselves at the time. I suspect we came at a busy time, and the staff performed admirably considering the pandemic surrounding us and would be willing to revisit in future.

Booked here after reading positive reviews What a mistake that turned out to be. Arrived to find front of restaurant empty and a reserved table for two (ours). Rear of restaurant sounded lively and we understood it to be because of a birthday booking so were ok with that. We ordered our starters which then took an age to arrive, so much so that we were given complimentary a tiny garlic bread with them. Little did we realise that this was the same size we ordered with our mains!! Service was terrible from a young boy who clearly was out of his depth as a waiter. Starter was barely warm ( Camembert for me Bruschetta for my wife) We then waited an age for our mains which came accompanied with a tiny garlic bread again with both our dishes overcooked ( pasta dishes). Our table was the only one occupied and we constantly shared our dining area with people ordering and waiting for takeaways !! Two couples who hadn’t booked were shown into the main area of the restaurant while we were stuck out on a limb. Only my wife’s embarrassment stopped me from from asking them why we were treated like this but they clearly heard us as they then offered us complimentary desserts and coffees (we politely refused) I’ve never felt so undervalued as a customer as I did tonight, and on top of that the food was very average ( hope the new chef they are advertising for makes a difference!!)

When we arrived our table wasn’t ready and covered with the belongings of those at the next table. We weren’t convinced when seeing the table being cleaned it was being properly sanitised. We were disappointed we had to request our table was separated from one which was about to seat four people next ours. The new diners agreed we were all too close. Our waiter spoke so quickly we could hardly understand what he said. It seems most of the staff are new and poorly trained. Our food was was mediocre and overpriced. We were concerned throughout our meal that social distancing wasn’t being observed as others arrived . When salt and pepper were requested, they came in clearly unsanitised containers, unlike other restaurants where they are provided in individual sachets. The icing on the cake was a dog seated on a chair one table along from ours. It was clear we were unhappy and were offered a complimentary drink, which we declined. We will not be eating here again.

We booked ahead of our visit to Cornwall to ensure we had a table. We were met by the door and shown to our table. Track and trace details were taken when we had been seated. Some members of staff wore masks, others didn’t, but social distancing was maintained by all. There was a lively atmosphere as the restaurant was full but tables were spaced out enough that no-one was in close proximity. As time ticked on, it became quieter. There was plenty of choice from the menu for food. There were a few specials too. Food was well proportioned and served hot. Our party enjoyed the crab and prawn pasta and my hake was nicely cooked. Well worth a visit and recommend you book as this is a popular place.

Looked on the internet to find the Bridge to get a takeaway pizza. Found their website which stated order 2 pizzas for 18.95 all week any two pizzas. Button on website saying order here did not work also rang twice and nobody answered the phone. So walked down to the restaurant and ordered there assuming offer was on. Ordered my pizza after 5 min wait in queue and was told 25 min wait and 8pm to collect. Got back to restaurant just after 8 and waited another 15mins. Went to pay my 18.95 and was told offer not on in summer as we are far too busy. Ended up paying 27.50 for two pizzas to take away looked about 10 inch so pretty expensive for takeaway. Pizza was very nice just to say but website should not falsely advertise a price if offer no longer available. Might as well eat in as same price.

My daughter and I went to this restaurant by accident as we were driving back to our cottage after a long day surfing. it is owned and run by a lovely couple (Italian husband and English Wife). Apparently they have recently taken over the restaurant and you could see how much effort they were putting into making the place great for all people. We tried a selection of food on the menu and the house wine which were all fab. More than the food and wine, it was the service and hospitality of all staff which was amazing. We couldn't ask for a better service and the cherry on the top was the surprised candle in my daughter's ice cream and singing 'happy birthday' for her, as it was her birthday.

What a amazing find this place was on the last day of our holiday week in sunny Cornwall! We were super lucky to get a table on a busy Friday summer evening (thanks to an earlier cancellation). We visited as a group of 8, 2 families with kids, and the staff were super riendly as soon as we set foot inside the restaurant. We reached 45 mins early on our way back from minack theatre but they were kind enough to let us settle with the kids on our reserved table. Our first impression was that the decor was simple but elegant and pleasing to the eye. The ambience a bit quiet intially as we were one of the first diners that evening. We were immediately seen by a lovely waitress who took our drinks and kids orders. My wife wanted to try one of their special wines and Fabio (who is also the owner) went out of his way to suggest an amazing Italian wine which even our non-wine drinking friends said was one of the best they've tasted. Everything we ordered after that was just scrumptious including some off-menu dishes as we have fussy kids! The place started to get livelier and busier as the evening went on but the speed and quality of service remained unaffected. Fabio is an amazing host and so were all the staff working that night. Our family friends personally thanked me for finding this gem of a place after an week of under-whelming dining experiences around Cornwall. Thank you to Fabio and his staff for such a lovely unforgettable evening :)

The service in this amazing restaurant is second to none. The food is beautiful and so delicious we had to to leave early due to my son being ill but the staff were so accommodating and asked if we wanted anything taking a way with us but we declined as we had definitely enjoyed the stunning food Rosie in particular was absolutely amazing she was just so friendly so genuine and just fantastic bloody amazing at her job. Made the experience so much more pleasurable so thank you to that we will definitively be back for cocktails and more of that delicious food. So thank you for everything!

The food and service for an evening meal were excellent. It was very busy due the Eat out to help out scheme but the waitresses apologised for any delays. The food was worth the wait. Seafood linguine, crab & king prawn pasta bake and the Funghi Dolcelatte (mushrooms in a Stilton cheese sauce) are all highly recommended. They also do a takeaway service which seemed popular. Will definitely go if back in Newlyn again.

We stayed in Hayle but travelled over to visit The Bridge based on the menu and reviews. We did book ahead as well. I did have to amend the time on a few occasions based on what we were doing during the day but you could not actually speak to anyone directly over the phone as you were greeted with an answerphone message. As we were about half an hour away I did not want a wasted journey but in the end there was no real worry as they did follow up with a text message to confirm our reservation for which I was grateful. The Bridge is situated just outside of Penzance and can be easily missed as you enter Newlyn. Parking is limited outside but there is a small public car park around the corner. We were greeted and told that a lot of mains were unavailable due to staff shortages. The only real options were pizzas. A couple of the starters were also unavailable. This was disappointing as 3 of my family are vegetarians and were looking forward to the pasta and bruschetta. However the pizza options were wide and varied and were all available. Given the limited choice of vegetarians starters, I ended up having my own and opted for the Pollo Criollo. These were effectively chicken goujons served with a yogurt and mint dip and was really nice. The mint sauce was a surprising complement to the dish. The mains we had were a mexican pizza (hot and spicy with jalpenos) and the vegetarian Toscana. Both were really nice and tasty. The desserts were displayed on a board that was bought round to the table to choose from - I think these change regularly but we shared a chocolate brownie and cheesecake. No complaints here. The staff were polite, efficient and friendly. We were initially seated away from the main dining area but the owner (charming man and very talkative with all diners!) notified us of a cancellation and asked if we wanted to move to the main area which we did. This area is a lot more open and lighter so it may be worth considering this when booking. The pizzas I thought presented good value for money. No doubt we were very disappointed a lot of the main options were unavailable on the day but I would visit again in the future if we were in the area. Its a nice little diner worth visiting.

Not to be missed Quite incredible! We Had been sailing the length of the south coast of England for three weeks…. Eating in a variety of restaurants, this was the best meal we had had the whole trip! The staff were extremely attentive (also gorgeous) and nothing was a problem…. Such a pleasant change ! their wine list is not over priced either Have no hesitation in recommending The Bridge.

We are regular visitors to Newlyn and The Bridge is one of our favourite restaurants. Fabulous Fabio, a lovely and very charismatic Italian, and his team, always make us very welcome and create the perfect atmosphere for a family meal with our chatty teenagers. And the food is delicious too, with all our favourites, and an ever-changing specials board. We have stayed near Newlyn for a week this time, but ate at The Bridge twice, and will be back for more in October when we next visit.
