Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Whenever I'm in Somerset I try to ride the Strawberry Line to The Lamb, it's a great place, awesome food and drink and they really look after you. This trip, my bike developed an issue on the way there and I needed help to fix...it. The manager kindly asked her staff to lend me things to get the job done. She didn't have to do that, they had been very busy previously and she could have just said no. But she went out of her way to help. That's exactly what they're like at The Lamb.More

Nice staff, good food. Pleasant, cosy country pub vibe. Generous pudding - shared by 2! Didn’t need to book despite it being quite busy on a Saturday evening.

Yet again the team the Lamb produced the perfect Sunday lunch! Sublime beef, perfect roasties, fluffy yorkies and stunning gravy (which they won't give the recipe for). The pub was very busy but the staff remained cheeful and food came out quicker than I was...expecting, but this is Sunday and we were very happy to sit and absorb the fantastic atmosphere. The initial reviews look great but then you come on here and see the latest review beneath this one is the exact same experience, so I presume you still have the excuse of ‘not having your usual chef’ won’t fly this time? The food is...bland and cold, the beef is a tough as a pair of wellies, and I’m a farmer who prides myself on raising quality Hereford x cattle. The Yorkshire is raw, the staff are rude, with the excuse ‘we are busy’ well maybe another line of work with a slower pace…. if can’t handle the heat in the kitchen! Ps frozen potatoes??? They where so powdery and soggyMore

We were really looking forward to our roast dinner after reading the excellent reviews, but we were sadly disappointed. 2 of us had beef but it was so tough we struggled to eat it. The roast potatoes were bland and dry, no crisp to them...at all. Not a lot of taste to the veg either. At almost £20 per head we expected better. We then went for a dessert and chose the 'sharing cookie dessert' It tasted nice but was in no way for two people. All in all we felt ripped off which is a shame as the pub itself was lovely and the staff were friendly.More

The Sunday roast was lovely however we are both gluten intolerant. This meant they simply removed the Yorkshire pudding, and stuffing etc so that all we were left with was meat, veg and potatoes. A gluten free meal should not simply mean just removing things.!...I asked the waitress and she said it was too difficult to do this ! Other places manage it though! It’s just a lazy approach to catering for food intolerance customers.More

We were away with family (14) staying at Cheddar Woods and we had already booked for a New Year's Eve meal. When we arrived at the pub, I was very impressed with the olde world feel and I got a really good feeling that this...was going to be an excellent choice of venue. I wasn't wrong, I had a roast dinner, there was a mountain of perfectly cooked pork, perfect crackling, a huge Yorkshire Pud, roast potatoes, Parsnips, carrot and swede mash and cabbage, more than ample portions of each and beautifully cooked. I would go so far as to say it was the best roast dinner I have ever had and I will be 70 later this month, so I have had a few and cooked a few as well. The staff were friendly and attentive and despite it being extremely busy they coped very well and never stopped smiling. All in all, if I had more stars to give, I definitely would, it's at least an 11 out of 10 from this diner. Thank you and well done The Lamb Inn.More
