Walk from Lulworth cove for a hard earn't pint and food. The couple who run it are delightful and can't do enough to make you feel at home. The food is very good however when we went in October the menu was more to our likening. It maybe seasonal however there was not enough local seafood dishes available. I must... More

A busy but cosy and very pretty Dorset pub, with good value and freshly cooked food. Just what we needed at the end of a long day and drive.

We were staying nearby to East Chaldon last week, and booked in for a Wednesday evening, without knowing that it was The Sailor's Return pie night. Well, what a treat that turned out to be! My starter of Crab cakes was lovely, just what I needed after a long walk on a cold and windy night, under a star filled... More

We ate here as a family while on the way to Twynham village. Despite tables being reserved, they managed to find us a free table. Good choice of menu, including veggi options. Quality of food was great, well cooked countryside classics such as venison. Nice atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff.

Very nice food in a lovely location. Bar area was busy but restaurant side was quiet and relaxing. Food was very nice with meat/fish/ vegetarian options. Staff are welcoming. Didn't feel uncomfortable bringing two kids along. Nice selection of local drinks to try.

Walked through the bar of locals (welcoming locals though) to a nice table towards the back of the pub in the restaurant area. The food was very nice and all fresh and well presented. Service was polite and correctly paced. Nice and romantic setting and very nice food.

Had been here about 3 or 4 years ago and returned in the New Year and still did not disappoint. Atmosphere and Staff most welcoming. Food excellent quality with many local ingredients. Glad to see it's still here... will return again soon.

Our second visit to this pub this month: really friendly service, very reasonably priced delicious home cooked style food. Cosy booths to sit in. A really lovely old fashioned English pub with a great welcome, great food, would definitely recommend, and we'll definitely be back next time we're staying in the area😀

We had a couple of lunches here whilst staying in nearby Winfrith. Pate/toast and steak sandwich very nice as were the burgers a couple of days later, good house Sauvignon very welcoming landlord and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend based on our experience

It's some time since I last visited this establishment, and it's certainly brushed up its image. It was a Sunday night in January and we were pushed to find a good place to eat, and which was open. We received a very friendly welcome and were sat on a couch with a drink to study the menu. Being mid winter... More
