I visited the White Hart, for a family birthday Most of our party opted for the:
Duo of roast topside of beef & roast pork loin, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and gravy
£11.95 (see photo) it also comes with seasonal vegetables on the side and if you can’t go without stuffing you can buy this as a side dish
The meal was tasty, the meat was cooked to perfection.
Atmosphere was sophisticated & cosy, we had a long table with plenty of room between us and the next table, felt home from home.
With alcoholic drinks, 5 side dishes, coffees and meal for 6 adults total cost was £159 which in my books is great value for money.
Highly recommend eating or drinking here. Staff were attentive but not intrusive.

Three of us were going to the English Spirit Distillery and when I had booked had been recommended here to go for a drink. After looking online we saw the sample menu and the offer of 2 courses for £20 and decided to come for lunch before going on the distillery tour. Lunch certainly did not disappoint being excellent value for money, for my main I had the lamb shank and the meat was cooked perfectly, falling off the bone. Cannot praise the food enough and the service from all was fabulous making us feel welcomed. When asking for directions to the distillery a member of staff went above and beyond, Abi who kindly offered to give us a lift there and back to welcome us back for drinks after. All of the staff that we spoke to were so lovely and happy to help , honestly could not do more. I wish we lived closer as I reckon I would be visiting constantly if so and could not recommend it enough!

We absolutely love The White Hart for an early Friday evening meal or Sunday roast. Staff are always accommodating and super friendly, food is so reasonably priced for the quality and level of customer service that they offer. Staff are great with our toddler and always make us feel welcome. Highlights are the White Hart Salad and any fish dish. We can’t wait for the post lockdown reopening!

We arrived a little early for our meal and were greeted and shown to our table . The tables were spaced out well and cutlery was given individually wrapped In a serviette for each visitor and condiments were in individual sachets to help parent any risk of infection . The food was as amazing as ever , if I lived nearer I’d be here every Sunday ! I’ve never had a dinner out before where the roast potatoes are cooked like you would do at home , in fact , better !
The presentation is great and the choice on the menu is very good . I’m getting married here next year and really hope the chef doesn’t leave as you’d find it very difficult to get a meal as high a standard as here .
The staff are very friendly , the manager makes her presence clear to make you feel welcome and to see that everyone is happy with their food . I highly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t already

We have been to eat a few times here, 1st time back in August and food was superb, then booked to eat on Christmas Day and again 5* service and food, Tony and abi are front of house and could not be more welcoming if they tried, nothing is ever too much trouble, they tweeked a couple of things off the menu to accommodate our needs.
We then came for a birthday meal end of January and again the food and service was 5* they even accommodated the food to suit my “Keto” diet. Love love love the white Hart to the point we won’t eat anywhere else now as no one else is at The White Hart standard.
Tony, Abi and the staff are what makes that place what it is and as long as they are there we will keep coming ♥️

Booked a last minute Sunday lunch for two adults and a child, very accommodating over phone for a last minute booking.
Sat at table right outside toilet door (not ideal when wanting to eat)
Asked to move, which they wasn’t happy about even though there were a good few empty table that could easily accommodate 3 people.
Took 25 minutes before anyone took our order, and then waitress was rather miserable with no manners.
Roast beef dinner my husband and I had was lovely, although veg was a little cold the gravy warmed it enough. Had to ask for extra gravy though, which seemed to much trouble.
Child’s dinner wasn’t great, the sausages looked under cooked and wasn’t overly nice either, beans looked dry and over microwaved so if you like paying £12 odd quid for chips as that’s all she ate then great otherwise maybe just stick with the roast.
Bar staff look the part but are only really good at chatting amongst themselves, slow service, then ignore you when you go up to pay bill (we gave up waiting to have our table cleared or dessert order taken) then proceeded to serve another customer who came to the bar after us.
Such s shame as the useless/ miserable staff really let it down as roast was great.
Previous visits have been very similar with good food but slow service which really lets it down.

There are some meals that you have that you can still have a wonderful taste memory ages after you have eaten them. Unfortunately this was not the case with the White Hart - our first post-lockdown meal for a special annivesary was distinctly average. The service was friendly enough although the large bunch of cutlery wrapped in a green serviette was not bvery refined . As to the food, it was just okay. The sauce with the scallops was billed as creamy leeks but was runny and tasteless. The venison pate was mild and outshone by the onion marmalade. The blade of beef which we expected to fall apart didn't and while the belly pork portion was generous, I couldn't find any sausagemeat and the bubble and squeak lacked flavour. The Creme Brulee Pudding was the best tasting course of the meal.
Sorry but we wouldn't hurry to go back to the White Hart.

I have been to lots of hotels and restaurants in many countries often "posher" and more expensive but rarely have I been looked after as well, had such a lovely room or been fed better food than here at the White Hart in the village of Great Yeldham.
Put it on your list for a visit.
Needing to see clients in the area I booked in purely on the location and was so impressed immediately booked for a second stay a week later.
During my two visits I experienced lunch, an evening meal, two breakfasts and drinks in the bar and enjoyed it all.
The Chef is a genius serving up some really unique food, absolutely awesome. Try the pigeon.
The staff are brilliant couldn't be more welcoming, friendly and helpful.

We've eaten here before food fantastic so we decided to stay the night this time.
When we arrived we was shown to our room very nice gentleman explained everything.
The room we had was on the top floor very small and dark couldn't leave cartins open as windows were very low down people could see right in.
The kettle had water left in it and so did the water jug don't know how long they'd been in there they should have been emptied out by the cleaner.
Then to the bathroom lovely shower but half filled bottles of shampoo and shower gel.
Then the extractor fan kept coming on all through the night even with the door closed.
Then breakfast no one explained we could of had fruit before our cooked breakfast it was only that the waitress was telling the table next to us but we never got overfed that. Don't think the room we had was worth £98 For the night we didn't even feel it had been cleaned properly.
The meal in the evening was fantastic though and the staff that was on that evening looked after us.
I think to get a decent room you would need to upgrade not sure how much that would be.
Would definitely go back for the food not sure I'd stay again.

I booked for a party of 10 and the staff were very helpful and accommodating on the phone. We arrived and everything was set up in a private dining area which I was not expecting. It was a pleasant surprise.
The service was very good and the food was lovely. Everything was smooth and the main waiter Luke, (supervisor I suspect) was very friendly and helpful.
A few of us had the duo of pork and beef which was well cooked and seasoned. The roast potatoes were particularly perfect and the gravy lush... (wish there was more of it). The Yorkshire pudding was ok - but not enough gravy to enjoy it - maybe an extra pot on the side would be good (same with the apple sauce).
Mussels to start were nice but a tad under seasoned (a little more salt would not go amiss).
The Moroccan pigeon was cooked well also, very rich on a bed of couscous. Burgers looked succulent and the stuffed chicken went down a treat. The sea bass looked wonderful and mum really enjoyed that.
It was a shame that we were all too stuffed to try the deserts, but that's one for another visit!
Everyone had a lovely time and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely eat dinner there again.

We have been here many times before and ended up quite disappointed this time. Even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy ( two tables when we arrived) we were left quite a while before ordering a drink. The waitress was polite and we ordered our food and drink altogether . Our food arrived before our drinks, we asked for English mustard which never arrived. We were not checked back on so we could not communicate the absence of the mustard and that our side of roasted parsnips were raw. The rest of our food was good and we shared with the waitress who cleared us of our experience. They took the cost of the parsnips off which is much appreciate but I would have to think twice before returning here which I feel is a shame.

Whether it’s because it’s a beautiful old pub in the Suffolk countryside or the delicious food or happy memories of Christmas work lunches many years ago, I don’t know but I love this place.
I hadn’t been for many years but went back midweek in early December for a walk down memory lane with some old work friends. It did not disappoint: there was still the big log fire and comfortable dining room. I was sad to see how empty the pub was though, in these early Omicron variant days; normally at this time of year the place would be buzzing but it was just us and one other table.
The food itself was delicious: we each had three courses from the very reasonably priced Christmas set menu. I had a mushroom tart with a wonderfully light pastry, followed by the turkey roast dinner with all the trimmings as I knew I wouldn’t be getting it at home, it came complete with a large and puffy Yorkshire pudding and I finished off with a tasty winter berry Eton mess. My friends enjoyed their crème brûlées just as much and the sea bream was also excellent.
Service was efficient and helpful and we chatted to the manager about the challenges of running a pub in these difficult times.
It’s a bit out of the way for me but I’m hoping to go back soon for a family birthday meal.

Recently had dinner at The White Hart. Zach the chef that was on that evening cooked chicken supreme, chicken stuffed with brie and wrapped in bacon with dauphinoise potato with mushroom sauce followed by mixed berry pavlova. I have to say this food is just out of this world, the flavours were just mouth watering and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place to eat

Just to say last nights meal sat / 9/4/22
Starter was small and cold. Mail of steak was wcessivly fatty, my friend had the cheapest cut of liver, not lambs!
This would not be a problem if the food was resonably priced for the quality of ungreadients used.
Will not be returning!

My son is getting married at the White Hart tomorrow. We met up for dinner with our future in laws. We had a lovely evening but that was not matched by the food. Having looked at the menu online before we left home, we both had a fair idea of what we would order. None of my options (plaice, braised beef, baked aubergine) were available. I opted for the chicken and bacon Caesar salad. It was horrible. Three skinny little slices of chicken, some hard, dried up cubes of bacon in the bottom, burnt cheap white bread croutons and barely any Caesar sauce. My husband ordered some garlic bread but this was just some horrible brioche with no sense of garlic at all. It was nasty. Several others ordered burgers. They were very unappetising. Nasty brioche buns, no garnish - not even Cole slaw - and dried up chips that looked like they had been collected from the chippy and reheated. If these burgers were on the menu for under a tenner, they would not have been any better but at least they wouldn’t have been a rip off. Shame on you for serving up this rubbish. I have no idea how you won any awards for your food - it was awful. Not only that, the drinks orders were ridiculously slow on arriving. I am now dreading my son’s wedding tomorrow as I didn’t like the look of the food they have chosen and I can imagine it will be just as crap as the food we had this evening. I have actually had better food in a greasy spoon cafe than was served up this evening. Don’t eat here, it’s horrible.
