I have used this restaurant for some years and can say that it is a very high quality establishment and is the best in the area. This restaurant is not like the average 'high street indian' , but a very good restaurant. The kitchen is very clean as are the 'other' facilities, decor and environment is relaxing. The staff are cheerfulattentive and knowledgeable. As for the food it is beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The starters are superb and lamb momo is a favourite, the mains are excellent, in particular the Rara Lamb (or Chicken). Simply put,, this establishment is superb and has a menu that is quite extensive, and the kitchen will amend your dishes to your requirements. Every time I drive past this establishment it is very hard not to stop! Top marks!

Mittee (formerly Madhuwan I understand) has delightful sectioned-off booths (for up to 4?) which give you as a diner a cosy and more intimate sense to your meal. Clearly these were popular as they filled up first!
Food selection extensive enough and not overwhelming. Advice from staff available if needed. All food prepared fresh on the premises by hard-working chefs.
Staff attentive and courteous.
Cost was acceptable.

I have eaten at Mittee a few times now and i will keep coming back because the food is delicious. Every dish i have tried has been so tasty and full of flavour. The Chicken Bhuna is my favourite. The quality of the food has been outstanding on my every visit. The ambience is lovely, the staff are very welcoming and friendly ecspecially Prachandra who served me today. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant you wont be dissapointed.

'Mittee' restaurant used to be called 'Madhuwan' and is located at Downham. Mittee literally means 'soil or the earth in Hindi. Therefore Mittee has connotations with the nature, with being rooted.
What has not changed is the great flavour and ambience and decor of the restaurant. The food is great and service is well timed by friendly staff. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual.
Prashant is the manager and he has keen on customer satisfaction and open for ideas and suggestion
I would rate it highly.

For some reason I tried to click on 5 Stars but 4 was all I could??
This was my first visit to this restaurant and won’t be my last due to the following; clean, great service, polite staff, large portions and most importantly superb taste! My stewed dumplings for a starter was not only a weird choice but apparently a native dish from the Nepal region. My main was Kerala Fish Curry again similar to what I’ve experienced in Kerala.
Please visit this lovely restaurant with friendly staff!

Went for a meal tonight absolutely amazing food and service, very friendly , food arrived quickly and was easily the best Indian restaurant we have eaten in. Highly recommend! Would advise to have the saag aloo and chicken tikka masala

Mittee was recommended by a friend. We weren't disappointed. The food is amazing - good quality ingredients, tasty & authentic - not oily like many Indian restaurants. Can't recommend it highly enough. It's the best Indian restaurant for miles. A bit of a drive for us but well worth it.

I reserved the Mittee restaurant for my birthday earlier this month and had a large numbers of guests attend. The meal and service were outstanding. Prachanda, the manager, couldn't do enough beforehand to help me arrange the menu and timings. On the day everything went so smoothly thanks to the incredible hard work of all the staff. The food was incredible so a shout to the amazing chef! The restaurant really ensured it was a memorable event. I had great feedback from all my guests afterwards saying how much they enjoyed the meal and how well it was organised.
Would highly recommend Mittee Restaurant to anyone. Thanks for a great birthday event!

Outstanding,local restaurant. I visited this establishment again last night . I had Momo dumplings, Rara Chicken, Aubergine side dish and Chapatis. The Momo was beautifully cooked and presented. The Main course was the correct level of spice and the side dish complimented it. I also had a pistachio kulfi which was served in a lidded pot and was very good also having a better appearance than the usual 'Dalek' presentation. The service was excellent with attentive staff. Very well worth visiting regularly.

Really great food, one of the best in the area. Highlights include the homemade punjabi samosas, the jalfrezis, and the wonderful lamb jhaneko maso - can't recommend this enough. Great vegan and veggie options as well

This lovely restaurant with its cosy booths does the most amazing food. Their tandoor lamb chops are up there with some of the best Indian restaurants in the capital. Highly recommend to give them a try. Lovely team also. Delicious salmon dishes and a cod dish for dish lovers along with excellent huge tandoor king prawns

Really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The food was full of flavour and nicely presented. We ordered a black lentil daal, prawn puri and butter chicken amongst other things. The service was also great - attentive and quick. The booths in the restaurant create a cozy intimate feeling which we enjoyed.

I attended a Nepalese evening at the beginning of this month. It was outstanding! Live music, traditional dancing, and Nepalese food. The chef planned a superb menu. The kitchen team produced food for the entire restaurant without fault. The front of house team was highly attentive in providing excellent service as usual. The whole evening g was amazing. I can highly recommend this restaurant at any time.

Doesn’t matter how many times we dine here, excellence prevails. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable. When the younger ones for whom English is their second language try so hard to get it right. We always try something different and Friday was no exception; Himalayan chicken was really tasty, very spicy and full of flavour. Lamb Pudina Gosht is my favourite dish so far. The flavours are magnificent and the lamb is tender and plentiful. Prawn puree is a greater starter and really sets you up for all the wonderful dishes to follow. Elena is the perfect host always and brings together all the elements that make this a wonderful dining experience. Your chef is a genius in the kitchen and thank you all once again. From the moment I snapped a poppadom I started to consider reasons for my next visit. Exceptional value too. Looking forward to re-booking once again very soon.

Delicious food outstanding value and friendly service. We have been to Mittee a few times and really yummy food and atmosphere is very good, and the staff is very polite and attentive. We had a trio of chicken tikka and beetroot starter so nice and for the main course, we had lamb bhutuwa, thimi vegetable and green bean fugot with garlic nan superb flavour and balanced spice.
