We have been to Cow & Pig many times and decided to go their for lunch, as my Husband loves the "Plate of Meat".
The menu on the outside of the restaurant is completely different to the one we were given on a laminated piece of paper. To be honest, I was not impressed with the choices and decided to just have calamari and chips for main, while my husband ordered the brisket starter (which was good) and the Plate of Meat.
When the mains arrived, I was surprised to see the calamari, which I can only describe as white popcorn looking things in a basket. I asked the waiter if this was the calamari and he confirmed it was. I decided to try it anyway, but it was so salty, I sent it back, so ended up with just a plate of chips.
My Husband was also disappointed with the Plate of Meat - they used to ask you how you wanted your steak cooked and provide you with a steak knife. The dish used to have so many other components, i.e. burnt ends, beef ragu, black pudding and slaw, but not anymore!
Our days of going to Cow & Pig are unfortunately over, especially as I had to sit their with my coat wrapped around me, as it was so cold.
We did order a bottle of red (£26) which did bump the price up, but £57 for a below average lunch is just too much!

Visited Cow & Pig with two under tens and was very impressed. The decor is appealing and the restaurant was very clean. The kids portions were generous and the kids practically licked their plates clean. I had the ribs which just fell off the bone and my husband's steak was cooked to perfection. The drinks menu is extensive and rather than dessert they whipped me up a dessert cocktail which was chocolatey and delicious!! The restaurant was very well staffed so we did not have to wait for long to order or be served our food and the staff are very attentive. The cost was more than you would pay for a generic chain restaurant but the quality definitely means you get what you pay for and we cannot wait to return.

Came here yesterday for the first time with my partner. Was pretty disappointed with the service although everyone who serviced us (4 different people on a near empty night) was alright - had to wait long periods of time between being served. The gin garden cocktail was nice and very sweet. Calamari was slightly overcooked. 8oz sirloin was very nice although came with no veg just chips and butter sauce. Lamb rumb with garlic mash was tasty although quite fatty and mash was bland, flavourless and lumpy. Disappointed altogether but average in my books, probably won’t be returning.

After recently eating at a chain restaurant that specialises in steak i was quite excited to try the Cow and Pig figuring it would be and should be better than the chain version. How misplaced my excitement turned out to be. There was 4 of us in total and we ordered 3 steaks, the quality of the the steaks that were served up were incredibly poor so much so all 3 were sent back to the kitchen. The medium rare steaks were simply too tough to digest. This happens because the meat isnt that fresh or the meat was too cold when it was placed onto the stove to cook either way it when you order 3 steaks and all 3 need to go back to the kitchen something is wrong.

We booked to take part on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme as a couple. Trying new local places in the area we havnt tried before. We were both looking forward to come here as the menu sounded great and instragram page looked decent.
Sadly none of the food was worth dining out for. We suspect none of it was freshly made, at least it didn’t taste like it. The sweet potato fries were burnt (you could see they were without tasting them so don’t even serve them knowing they are!) the chicken burger from what’s shown on their insta is fried but I got just a dry chicken breast with raw onion not grilled onions as advertised. Mac and cheese balls tasted like flour.
The service from the staff was the only good thing but it won’t have us coming back, even after the schemes discount it still came to £65 for the two of us and the food was.... it was actually awful when you consider the price.
My partner actually said, “we should just stick to what we know and like next time” - to me this was a missed opportunity by the restaurant to get more repeat customers.
Sadly we won’t be returning.

After unfortunately falling foul of Covid our wedding got cancelled and we had to think what now could we do with the new limits and laws.
Cow & Pig came to our aid, after our initial enquiry right through to the day after our event (yes we booked) they made it plain sailing and were great on communication.
We had 30 guests in their private hire space which included our own bar and music / docking system.
Every guest was catered for and looked after on the night.
The 3 course set menu was more then what other places offer and was all very tasty.
Hats off to all the staff involved and thank you for making our day special.
We will be back for sure!

I've not experienced poor service like this for years, I would never ever return to the Cow and Pig it was terrible. My friends and I went on Saturday night, we sat down and waited at least half an hour for a menu. The waiter was slightly aggressive - was rushing around, wasn't nice, felt a bit tetchy. We ordered cocktails which took another half an hour to arrive. When the food came one steak was cooked incorrectly so that went back, and a starter tasted terrible so that went back. When the food went back it felt like a huge ask and was met with a bit of tension which all made us super uncomfortable. We then ordered another drink which took another 40 mins to arrive. It's not often we go out for dinner and just have two drinks, for a Saturday night we wanted to have a few cocktails and enjoy our evening. We just weren't able to. The food I had was fine - nothing to write home about but nothing awful. The waiter then said some of the puddings weren't available so we ordered what he said was. We were then told by a lady (manager perhaps) that what he said was not the case but the kitchen had now closed so we couldn't order what we wanted. We decided just to leave and get out of there. It was an awful atmostphere, and dreadful, dreadful service. I can't understand why the kitchen would close at 9pm on a Saturday night. Perhaps if they had taken our order in a timely manner we would have been inside this window for the dessert. Shoody all round, avoid if you want to have a nice evening.

We came to Cow & Pig Bromley for my brother's 30th Birthday as he is a meat lover and this is one of his favourite place to dine locally.
We were given exceptional service and they really did make it special for my brother by giving him a complimentary drink and a shot for all of us. was a really fun evening.
They offered us some of the new starters which will be on their new menu - smokehouse chicken and these cheesy parcels. both which were delicious.
We are really looking forward to going back and trying out their new menu.
A great local restaurant which i would recommend to all.

Really disappointed with our visit today have been here several times in the past and left feeling disappointed. Service was slow and inattentive. Soup tasted like it was out of a can, potatoes overcooked and the steak that one of our group ordered was almost inedible/ really tough. Asked for the £37 service charge to be wavered as felt the £42 for a lunch and 2 drinks for each person was already high enough for a very mediocre lunch.

Overall this was a good experience
The more expensive rib eye was about £7 more for the same 300gram cut. £34 seemed expensive, but was very tasty if a bit undercooked even for rare, but that seems so hard to get right, especially with the choice of cuts offered.
Chips and mash nice on both out plates, but our pork didn't have the flavour of a really nice bit of pork was small and needed to be cooked slower and longer, not charred and quick roasted
I didn't like the small sachets of sauce at these prices
Both cocktails nice.and so was my coffee
We both hated the truffle mac and cheese
It should list its truffle oil and chilli in it, and soggy breadcrumbs on the top. Cheap tasting cheese as well. On menu as £5, but was charged at £6.
Told waiter taking payment we hated it, so wasn't going to eat it all.
He only seemed to be interested in making light of everything, and on auto pilot in my opinion you could of told him anything, and it wouldn't of made any difference . I say this as we expected it to be removed from the bill , nstead we got charged an extra pounds plus 12.5 service charge.
I think for the price it's not good enough to make it a regular place to go, especially at these prices and at the end of the day it's steak and chips and pork and mash, side order mac and cheese
2 cocktails and 1 coffee for £90 for 2
No starters or wine or even deserts
A good steak, but expensive all the same
Nice place, well done out with great manageress, let down a bit by efficient but somewhat laddish support staff.
Not all too negative I hope as we had a good night overall, and I for one look forward to going back .

Following lockdown this has been my first dine in experience at a restaurant and.... I wasn’t disappointed! The service was friendly, welcoming and staff couldn’t be more helpful. For those concerned about dining in, don’t be, the staff here take the necessary safety precautions so that you feel safe e.g wearing masks.
The food was absolutely scrumptious. The calamari was great quality with a beautiful light batter and the Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection with a truly delicious peppercorn sauce. Looking forward to the next visit already!

A great evening at the Cow and Pig Bromley.
We were staying in Bromley for a couple of nights and booked the Cow and Pig based on the reviews on Trip Advisor.
My partner had the rib eye steak and I had the steak and ale pie. The food was fabulous, the ambience was perfect with great lighting and music and we received exceptionally friendly, attentive service without being intrusive, especially from James! So huge thanks to all at Cow & Pig Bromley for a fabulous evening. We will definitely return on our next visit to Bromley and highly recommend it!

Dinner post lockdown 2 average rating due to mix of dishes that came out - cocktails are delicious, would 100% recommend the brisket nuggets to start and the pulled pork lasagne for main so tasty! Wouldn’t recommend the burger which 1 of our party ordered and it was pretty much an exact replica (albeit neater) of a Big Mac. Was expecting and really looking forward some real juicy beef burgers that you’d expect in a restaurant like this but they were thin and dry fine for McDonald’s but not when paying £15 for a meal. Ribs also okay, Decor is really quirky and music was good so a nice atmosphere, I would return as I enjoyed my dishes but wouldn’t nessecary go out of my way to recommend which is a shame!

We had high hopes for this place, but was so disappointed.
Service wasn’t good at all and that’s the bit that doesn’t cost much a friendly service and waiters that look after you that’s the most important bit but sadly this place lacks that.
We know restaurants are struggling and you expect in these times to pay more but portions were small and the food just ok.
Board outside that offers 2 for 1 cocktails all day everyday is misleading it needs to be taken in in the evening because it doesn’t include evenings.
We ordered a mojito and it tasted like mint and lemonade could not taste any alcohol and we know a mojito! This is the weakest we’ve ever had. Added to the bill was a £42 service charge which we accepted and reluctantly paid but the service really didn’t warrant this.
Never mind we won’t be returning.

Went here on Saturday night for the first time and was very disappointed after being told food was good. Had a table booked for 8.30 but was early so tried to see if we could get our table earlier. We were taken to the table by a friendly waiter but that’s when issues started. It took over 10 minutes for us to manage to order a drink. There was then another couple that had arrived that sat behind us. The waiter then proceeded to ask them for their drink orders. Meanwhile we had decided what we wanted to eat and waited patiently for him to come to us. He then gave them their drinks and took their order. We waited but still nothing. It took for us to ask him if we could order for him to acknowledge us. We were then told it would be 10/15 minutes for our starters to arrive which we had no issues with. This was at 8.27. In the meantime the couple who had arrived a good 10 minutes after us had throughly enjoyed their starters and were having their plates cleared. 10 minutes later they were tucking into their main courses. Still no starters for us though and it wasn’t like there was not a steady movement of food coming out of the kitchen. At 8.55 a good hour after we had arrived we were sitting at the table still waiting for our starters to arrive. So much for 10/15 minutes more like 30 mins. I called the manger over and asked if we could cancel our order and explained why we did. He said let me check in the kitchen. He came back to say our starter was nearly ready. Nearly ready !!!! Why was we told 10/15 minutes if it was gonna take over 30 minutes. The manager then told us we could have the food for free but by then I’d had enough and declined his offer. He then tells me that they were a member of staff down. Surely we should have been told this when order was being taken then we could have understood.
