We had lunch at the Bonny Cravat today Saturday April 30th The service was excellent and friendly. Our meals were brilliant. Two of us had the Steak pie, it came in an individual pie dish with lovely puff pastry, crammed with lovely lean meat, very...tasty and accompanied by a jug of gravy, we chose skin on chips which were lovely and hot. Excellent. My husband and son had beef burgers, they too were lovely home made and very lean, 100% beef. For dessert my husband had apple and blackberry crumble which came in an individual pie dish, a lovely crisp topping and full of fruit accompanied by a generous portion of cream. My son had the luxury chocolate cheesecake with orange sorbet… gorgeous. My daughter in law had the blended trio of chocolate mousse with salted caramel popcorn topping… yummy. All in all an excellent meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Well done Bonny Cravat.👍More

Surprising to see reviews with 'Wonderful' 'Excellent' 'Fantastic' 'Great' etc. This pub offers just very mediocre, unsurprising flavourless food. I had the squid in sweet & sour which was very nice but owed as much to the generic sauce as anything else. Followed by liver...and bacon which had almost indigestible under-cooked green beans, over-cooked liver, and tasteless bacon in a bland gravy. My husband had chicken skewers with a weird tasting satay followed by a fish stew which was very poor! It included three miserable mussels that had obviously surrendered through old age, ONE discoloured prawn, a small piece of fish, possibly sea bass and four cockle sized clams . The shellfish and probably the fish must have come from pre packed frozen bags as none of the seafood was fresh or succulent let alone tasty. For that poor show, £14.95 for the liver and bacon and an astonishing £15.95 for the stew. A medium (small) glass of house wine £6.25. If you are happy with mediocre, tasteless pub food that hasn't seen the sight of fresh produce and needs to be at least 20% less in price to justify the quality, do visit. It is clean, well-spaced and good service.More

We live in the village for 4 years and have been waiting for a good pub and finally it's happened ! Quite pub, friendly staff good food and we go at least once a month. The pie is delicious, my partner had the ribs last...time and they where huge! We shared the antipasti starter and it's was amazing really different cheeses and salami... just writing this review is making me want to book up tonight! I hope they keep up the good food and service and stay open!More

Sunday lunch took an hour to arrive and the overly generous vegatables were very overdone. Pleasant staff, nice building but the food wasn't really very good..

On visiting the area we were told the pub serves a lovely evening meal. After walking from our accommodation to the pub an hour away we arrived only to be told no food was being served that evening due to another event being held. Very...disappointing. Whilst having a drink two bar staff came from around the bar to talk to another local with one sitting on the floor of the pub! Not the best impression!More

Staying in a cottage locally, tried this hostelry in Woodchurch and we weren’t at all disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was very good and the atmosphere was as we would want from a pub. Went back several times during our stay...and enjoyed each visit.More

Last minute decision to visit & so glad we did. Gem of a pub. Friendly staff, great food & spotlessly clean too. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We are new residents and ate here for the first time. I thought it was very good. Nice food, very nice rose wine and excellent and friendly service from everyone! Between us we had a mixture of things to eat (chilli squid, Thai curry, 1/2...garlic chicken and a steak) and it was all delicious. Really recommend it.More
