About
The Great House pub and restaurant, between the Kent villages of Cranbrook and Hawkshurst, is set in some of the most celebrated countryside in all of Europe. Within its own superbly kept grounds, this 16th century inn more than lives up to its location with roaring log fires, ancient beams and Mediterranean inspired terrace for summer time al fresco dining, leading on to a typically Kentish garden, complete with aromatic herbs and a lynch gate. The Great House is known throughout the area as one of the loveliest places to dine, earning awards for its food and its atmosphere, offering not only a wealth of wines and well kept beers on tap but a full, delicious menu of both old fashioned British

We visited The Great House on a Saturday evening. Both the food and service was excellent. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and the service was attentive throughout the meal. The quality of food was fantastic and of great value. The steak and chicken skewers...More

Good pizza. Not the cheapest but there was a deal on that night. Staff and service were excellent. More lighting needed on the approach road for lone walkers.

Amazing food-2nd visit! The 2 lobsters with sides for £40 on a Friday is great deal so I’d really recommend making your way there then. Pre book though as it does get very busy but you can eat in the bar without a reservation

Lack of atmosphere compared to previous visits. Main menu lacked variety to ordered from the Pizza menu. Pizzas OK although soggy in the middle. Service OK although food left on the floor which was unattractive! More a family venue with the Pizza menu.
