We had a table for 4 for lunch for my husbands birthday last week. We were really looking forward to going as it had been recommended by friends. The positioning of the restaurant on the beach is lovely and the restaurant itself very nice. When greeted we asked to sit outside for drinks which was no problem, we were also given menus. My husband was going to have taster menu but we hadn’t realised this had to be whole table so decided on 3 courses. (It is very expensive considering it’s lunch - we have been very fortunate to have eaten in Michelin star restaurants before and have always found they do set lunch prices, obv not here) At at the table the staff were very attentive to start with but that did tail off. The food was amazing and can’t fault anything we had. The service was very poor towards the end and we were ignored for a long time. Glad we went but not sure we would go back.

The evening started really well with a great welcome at a fabulous location looking over a beautiful beach. Our dietary requirements were carefully checked (and observed). With the pre-prandial drinks came delicious amuse bouche and then we were led to our table, again with a great view of the beach and the kitchen. Another exquisite hors d'oeuvre arrived and then we were into our 3 course experience. Each was delicious - I had duck liver, cod and Welsh cheese selection. A list of the cheeses was provided. Service was superb. A party occupied a private room but had no effect on our service.

Lunch there was a total pleasure. From the warm welcome, to the warm laverbread filled bread, the beautifully crafted amuse-bouches then the dishes themselves. We chose the three course lunch. This started with some incredible amuse- bouches: a charred corn tart was good; The tomato macaroons with Bloody Mary gel were amazing - the essence of summer in one bite. And I loved the crab amuse bouche- the contrast with the sharpness of the apple jelly. This was a strong start. The sewin with smoked eel sauce was so well balanced. I then had the perfectly cooked cod with caviar and chive sauce. The Victoria plum dessert managed to provide different texture and intensity of flavours. The service was warm and friendly, professional but not overbearing….just right. The dining room is so calming and thoughtfully designed. It really felt like we were on holiday. Looking forward to visiting again.

Booked this place well in advance, We knew it was tasting menu only on offer . Having had similar experiences in other parts of the UK we were looking forward to it. We should have read the warning signs when we entered the restaurant and seemed to be seated in the only table for 2 sandwiched between a part of 6 and another couple despite loads of couple tables still available. As the evening wore on the table of 6 arrived snd got more and more rowdy and became very intrusive on what should be a very carefully choreographed evening and ‘fine’ dining Eventually we asked who the manager was and it it was the lady we happened to ask! She offered to move is to another vacated table for the last course Before we paid the bill we asked to speak to the manager again to express our dissatisfaction. She had not come back to check on us. With some persuasion she took 10% off the bill Overall we were surprised given the quality of food and service this was allowed to happen. What should have been a very special evening left a very bad taste. I don’t really think the manager lady ‘got it’ which is shocking for this proposed calibre of restaurant.

Special occasion venue with great views over Oxwich Bay & the sea. We finally secured a booking on Saturday evening & thoroughly enjoyed our 6 course taster menu - the staff had been very well briefed & knew all the ingredients of each course which were at times, works of art! Each dish was very tasty & flavoursome. When we have saved up some more pennies, we will return.

Reasonable food let down by very uneven service. We arrived on time and seated but then had to wait a significant period to order drinks and to order food. Dishes from the tasting menu arrived in a very uneven rate. There appeared to be some kind of challenge with the kitchen but we weren’t informed what nor did we receive an apology. The wait continued for the bill. We noticed how other customers seemed exasperated - with one person saying loudly “we’ve been waiting an age” as we left. Dishes ranged. Some exquisite but others over salted or lacking in flavour. Service too - some of the staff are perfect, others over familiar with at least one addressing us as “guys” (a pet hate). Wine by glass selection was disappointing. It’s a shame. It’s a beautiful beach and a worthy ambition but needs a lot more finesse.

I asked my partner to book this as a birthday present, we couldn't get a weekend booking so we settled for a weekday booking and had to pay a 100 pound deposit. However it did not live up to expectation. We arrived for our booking at 8pm and didn't get our drinks for 40 minutes, this wasn't the service I expected, we didn't order from the menu until 45 minutes of waiting. My partner is vegan and asked what was the best choice and they said they weren't sure because it wasn't ordered much. The vegan menu was extremely disappointing and I felt very sorry for my partner eating a few vegetables with very little variety / choice. He didn't doubt the vegetables tasted good but he left hungry and at £89 per head we felt very disappointed. The venue is gorgeous though and in a lovely setting. However we won't be returning. I will be sticking to my favourite restaurant Slice for special occasions.

My partner and I visited as part of his birthday present, our visit had been delayed for over a year due to covid and due to the restaurant ceasing their Sunday service. The restaurant is a beautifully decorated restaurant in a truly beautiful location. We were really looking forward to our visit, especially as we waited so long. But unfortunately we were left disappointed due to the service we received from certain staff. The food was incredible, very well presented. Some of the serving staff were lovely, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. However, there were a number of staff (who appeared to be management) who were very pretentious and snooty. They made us feel completely unwelcome, especially at one point where I was talking to the member of staff in conversation and they purposely ignored me. It was quite obvious that they’re attention was centred around a certain clientele. Unfortunately, due to this, we wouldn’t want to visit this restaurant again nor would we recommend it. I think some staff need to be reminded that the value of £1 is still £1 regardless of where it comes from. Everyone who visits that restaurant is paying used their hard earned money - and everyone deserves the same level of service

This was our first time at the Beach House for my mother's 81st birthday. We booked for lunch and had the most incredible experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The Beach House team is outstanding. They are completely professional and discreet whilst being warm and charming. They ran our meal like clockwork and when there was a slight delay at the end with our dessert there was an apology and we were provided with a complimentary 'pre-dessert' (one of the most delicious desserts we've ever eaten) and coffees. The ambience is wonderful as is the view of Oxwich Bay. This alone would have made the event special but the food made the occasion outstanding. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the ingredients, the imagination and creativity of the dishes and how sublime each course was. We loved the two additional chef's dishes. Cucumber is possibly my least favourite food item and yet when I tried the cucumber macaron it was delicious - testimony to the chef's incredible skill. A huge thanks to the team for making our experience so special and we look forward to returning again this year

I’ve had some superb meals here over the last few years so expectations were very high. The new lounge area is a great addition and, it almost goes without saying, the setting is fantastic, especially on a sunny day. The food was good - some of it very good - but it didn’t reach the heights of previous visits when I have fought to find superlatives to describe the meal. On this occasion, my starter of lobster was excellent but my main course of lamb was underwhelming. It was served with a pot of potato foam and lamb ragu which we didn’t enjoy. It was onion-y and reminded us of stuffing. I had the bara brith soufflé on my last visit (it was brilliant) so opted for the salted caramel slice. It looked beautiful but was, I thought, too sweet, although the caramel filled raspberries were lovely. Overall, given my previous excellent meals, I am attributing this less than great experience to poor menu choices on my part. I would definitely go back.

A very popular place, very difficult to get a table here because of the Michelin Star awarded to the Beach House. Located on the beach in Oxwich. There is a charge for parking. We went for the three course for £80 each. Very expensive in my opinion but excellent food and great staff. I had the Llandeilo Fallow Deer, Partridge and Bara Brith Souffle. Yes, the portions were small, but everything was cooked and served to perfection. Inbetween the courses we were also served other food as well like some sort of a mushroom cake, pumkin soup and homemade bread filled with laverbread. Everything was very tasty. We also had a nice bottle of wine for £37 and everything was served as expected in a fine dining restaurant. We really enjoyed our time eating here, but can't justify spending this amount of money on food again.

This is where we go to celebrate something special. On average, twice a year we get to the Beach House and once again, did not disappoint. We went for the 8 course taster menu, we feel it offers great value and we get to try fish/game that we wouldn’t try at home. First class, all the courses were absolutely amazing and the service, you can’t fault it. Well worth the price, it’s a fantastic experience and great night out.

We visited the Beach House for dinner during the Christmas period of 2024. This was for a family members 50th birthday and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has a Michelin star, and this is well deserved. From start to finish we were spoilt by each wonderful staff member we met and the food was just brilliant. We each had the eight course taster menu and some had the wine flight to accompany this. One of our party is expecting and staff instantly produced a menu suitable for them, so pregnancy is well catered for. The entire evening was an absolute treat and wonderful experience. Descriptions of the food and wine were provided at each course, with local produce from our wonderful homeland. Absolutely delicious. Thank you! We will return.

On arrival, after the long drive down country lanes to this beautiful setting, we were warmly greeted by Kirsty, who showed us ro our table. The restaurant is brightly decorated, (I would dim the lighting slightly for a cosier feel) and very clean. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu, for 95 pounds. We received 2 canapes which were pleasant. The lava bread loaf was absolutely beautiful. The 6 courses were very well presented, and described in full by the staff, who we found attentive and friendly. As the driver for the evening, I only had one glass of wine, although I thought this a bit steep at 12 pounds for a small glass, but you dont go to these restaurants for value and to eat as much as you like for £9.99!...that said, although we didn't leave hungry, I agree with other comments about portion sizes being small, perhaps its just considered 'common' in Michelin circles to put more on the plate and charge less for drinks. We wil return in a different season when the menu changes. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the fine dining experience.

A Christmas present from my husband, we stayed in the lovely Oxwich Bay hotel so only had to walk across the beach to the restaurant. A cosy atmosphere greeted us, candles on the tables and attentive staff to take coats and show us to our seats. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu, a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of lovely French Pinot Blanc Klevner from Alsace to accompany food. My husband also had a locally brewed lager. To start we had a tartlet with shrimp and crab then the laverbread loaf with butter arrived at the table. We both then had the artichoke soup, the Snowdonia cheese stuffed pasta with wild garlic sauce and the Scottish Salmon. All absolutely stunning. Then came the main. I had brill (aptly named) and my husband had the fallow deer. My brill was served with a langoustine sauce. Both mains were divine. Apparently it's not polite to lick your plate, which is a shame as I left about a teaspoon of the sauce on the serving dish. Just when you thought things couldn't get any better... they did. Along comes a pre-dessert. This little pot of gorgeousness was like Antigua in a dessert. It was a taste of the Caribbean with fruit and a hint of coconut and lime. Perfect to cleanse the pallet before my favourite bit of any meal comes along.... Dessert. This came in the form of lemon tart with mint ice cream for me and teisen lap souffle with tea ice cream for my other half. We both tasted each others dessert and both were out of this world. To finish, I had a Vesper martini and husband had a rum coffee. Served with petit fours which I swear could have been made by angels. We left the restaurant full and happy. We were there for nearly 3 hours. We shared 1 bottle of wine, I had my cocktail, he had a beer and a coffee. It was expensive, but if you love incredible food, it really is worth every penny. We've both promised that a hotel stay and meal in the Beach House is going to be an annual thing for us now. However, we will be popping back before next year to try the lunch menu, which I also hear is fantastic.
