Perfect lunch spot. Basic, but fresh menu served by delightful staff (without the attitude of staff in The Forge!). The freshly baked cakes are particularly good. Off to a good start 🙂

Had lunch recently at the arena restaurant the restaurant is beautiful enjoyed watching the horse in the arena as we waited for our lunch which took a while , excellent idea to be able to watch the horses in the arena . The food arrived after 20 mins the restaurant wasn't very busy so would say to anyone wishing to... More

We've driven past many many times and promised we'd try it so today - finally - we did pop in for lunch. The menu was quite basic but the quality was very good. We had the bacon and sausage baps plus 2 drinks, it came to £10 exactly. Baps included crisps and a nice, very fresh side salad. The staff... More

I went in to Ballavartyn today for the first time although I had driven past the entrance several times but never had the time to stop. Today I made a decision to go there and I was not disappointed. I had a delightful Crab salad, the crab was as fresh as could be and the salad plentiful and crisp. The... More

Not being open so far in the evenings, nor having a drink license, and having set menu items unavailable on the visit, this is not quite a restaurant - yet. However I gathered that it is intended to evolve into one in due course. This a nice upmarket establishment with very creditable, good quality flavoursome food, an oasis of charm... More

Have just returned from lunch. The restaurant was virtually empty - one other party arriving even later for Sunday lunch than we were. When booked there was no mention that a traditional Sunday lunch wasn't being served. That wouldn't have been a problem had the offered menu not been full of various forms of sandwiches and other general run of... More

I have recently been for coffee on a Saturday and for Sunday lunch and I have been very impressed with Ballavartyn's Arena Restaurant. I found the food excellent, first class service & great value for money in a comfortable setting overlooking the fantastic Ballavertyn Equestrian Indoor Arena and I have been fortunate to enjoy Sunday Lunch whilst having front row... In the posh new Equestrian Centre opposite Mount Murray is this nice little restaurant where you can view the horsey goings on in the indoor arena through picture windows or, on the other side, those in the outdoor arena, or enjoy the view over the countryside to the sea. Obviously used by the riders and their families, it has two... More

This is a restaurant directly adjoining a horse riding arena and will suit horsey people but perhaps not others. I went with some friends to a Sunday carvery recently and we found the smell from the arena a bit off-putting, not helped by people coming straight into the restaurant while wearing the same clothes and boots they had just been...
