We have visited The Artichoke many times over the years and not bring local did not realise that new landlords had recently taken over. We found the atmosphere lacking, no more hops in the restaurant and no English pub warmth. We were greeted after a...More

We visited the Artichoke on Saturday, a family group of 9 people. The staff were very friendly. The food was great and there was plenty of it. Overall a really lovely meal in this lovely old pub. We will definitely return .

Went there last minute as didn't feel like cooking. Had heard mixed reports from locals on the pub since new landlords took over. To be honest the food was good, nothing really on the menu that made you think " Oh I'd like that", although...More

Very welcoming staff, making the extra effort to make the birthday even more special. Food was excellent (especially the pies!) and was certainly value for money. Thank you.

Had lunch here today with friends. We sat at the table over the well. Really hospitable service. We ordered six different dishes, all were cooked and well presented. Lovely food. Will definitely be back, thank you!

Stumbled across this pub after an afternoon walk around Chartham. Beautiful old building but outstanding food and service. I am not local which is a real shame! But if you live near here, you should be visiting this lovely local pub.

Yes they are. When the was at the Artichoke a customer was there with his faithful friend. I asked the landlady about this and she told me that this dog was a very welcome visitor to the pub. Hope this helps.
