Food was reasonably priced, staff were friendly and food came out in a timely manner. Nice little pub off the beaten track, with a great garden
Warm welcome from hosts, warm atmosphere. Great choice and price range. Ingredients locally sourced where possible and very tasty too! Would highly recommend and will return.
Have just returned for our second visit and it won’t be our last. They do the most amazing Sunday lunch, by far the best we have tasted in Kent. Can’t fault the service. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them....Lovely country pub and can’t wait for our next Sunday visit for one of their wonderful roasts.More
Looking forward to returning to this pub,Sunday lunchtime was busy but not a bad thing, big let down was the wait,15mins for drinks order,1 hour to get the food(only roast for all of us) another hour for desert, very friendly staff and owner, need to improve on waiting...times,food was good for a Sunday lunch but didn't expect to pay a extra cost for the beef.More
We have wanted to visit the Jackdaw for a while after reading the good reviews and finally went tonight. We had no idea what would be on the menu as menus are not on the website! Was disappointed as soon as I read it as very little...appealed to me,lots of stodgy burgers, only thing I fancied was mussels and we were told they were off.I ended ordering fish and chips and my husband had rib eye steak. We then waited over 40 mins for the food to arrive 😱.My husband said his steak was not that good and my fish had thick greasy batter..the chips were also greasy and covered with salt.I ended up leaving a lot of my meal.We did not bother with dessert..will not be returning.Such a shame as staff were nice and the decor was lovely.More
Wow wow wow this is a must if visiting the area. I've been obsessed with TV programs on hospitality, and this pub/ restaurant had it all from decor to staff and management. Just nailed it, small menu but everything cooked and presented in style loved...it well done allMore
This was my first visit to The Jackdaw and I will definitely be back! We had a two course roast dinner which was really delicious and great value. Very generous portions and good selection of fresh veg. From the moment we walked in we knew...we would enjoy our meal. The landlord was so welcoming and all the staff so friendly. Thank youMore
Wow brilliant evening with the privilege of being in the Spitfire Room for an early birthday celebration. Huge thank you to Graham and staff for a lovely evening. Btw the merguez sausages were amazing!
Finally made it here after trying to book multiple times based on personal recommendation from a friend. Thought it would be good as it’s always so busy. Lovely warm welcome and great atmosphere. Good menu with lots of great options. Everyone loved their starters. Generous...portions and extremely good value for the quality of food. Mains - superb Sunday roasts which everyone loved plus a huge bowl of moules frites for one friend. Beautifully cooked selection of veggies with a lovely gravy and perfect fluffy and crunchy roast potatoes and great Yorkshire puddings. The cauliflower cheese and extra roasties were a great option and both delicious. Wonderful selection of desserts. One affogato, a honeycomb sundae and an excellent selection of cheeses. All washed down with the most reasonably priced bottle of muscadet. The staff were charming and efficient despite it being very busy. An absolutely superb Sunday lunch. Looking forward to returning very soon.More
A beautiful country pub, very scenic location, great food and service, only downside a very limited menu.
Lovely Sunday roast Very friendly servive and they managed to fit us in at short notice on a very busy day will definitely be visiting again
Had Sunday lunch here with the family, one of the best meals we have had out in a while, the lamb was amazing, even better than the Pig at Bridge which I had lamb there, that wasn't very good at all. The little details I...noticed that the toilets we're cleaned and bins emptied during the visit, Staff were very pleasent and attentive, and the chef definitely knew his stuffMore
Very disappointed with my visit to the Jackdaw. It seems all restaurants are obsessed with burgers as this seems the main stable diet in most restaurants these days. The menu was disappointing as it was all fast foods. My wife ordered risotto and a portion...of chips which didn’t come. I ordered a steak which was very tough to say the least. We have eaten in the Jackdaw in the past and it was fine, this time I feel that as we are not young we don’t want burgers, we want proper food which the Jackdaw didn’t provide. We won’t be returning as we have lost our patience with the Jackdaw, they need to cater for people who want reel food not fast food..More
Hubby has always wanted to visit this pub since he watched the Battle of Britain movie many years ago. On our month-long holiday in Europe from New Zealand we managed to organise a visit to the Jackdaw Inn for dinner to celebrate hubby’s 50th birthday....What an awesome experience. Publicans Michelle and Graham were such fantastic hosts. We had a wonderful night with fantastic food and the best service we have ever experienced. They really made the 50th birthday one to remember. We also met many of the locals who were so welcoming. Wish we lived closer so we could visit again. If you get the chance we would encourage a visit.More
