Ummmm after many visits to the nailers which we loved left a bit disappointed tbh , birthday family meal , had to wait 10 mins to someone to come to desk , no one checked us during meal if everything ok , beef on carvery...very fatty ( most came home for dog ) and I found whilst the staff very young and capable definitely lacked respect . One family were checking in with a lady in wheelchair , I was waiting at the bar so I noticed this , 3 staff were talking amongst themselves at desk completely ignoring this couple and I was cringing thinking please speak to them . Stopped in for a couple of drinks Friday and Saturday night,not to many people in, the girl behind the bar made us feel so welcome and even sorted us out with a lift back to the farmhouse where we were staying. I am ashamed to...say that I can't remeber her name, but she had a positive influence on our visit to Upton, brilliant effort, thank you.More

Excellent service, the meals were lovely and the staff all warm and welcoming, it was our 50th wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed the evening spent with family there.More

Sorry but it has to be the worst carvery me and my family ever had , the puddings were also disgusting had to send them back ,we have tried three times to get a decent meal there , disappointed every time would not recommend this...place 😡More

We was extremely disappointed with the food we was provided, we ordered tempura prawns, that specified it came with a sauce, we was told they had no sauce left but would check, we was then presented with what was tomato ketchup mixed with sweet chilli,...the prawns were tasteless and watery, like they were frozen from Iceland. We then ordered the salmon with baby potatoes, they were dry and overcooked, the salad was tastless without and dressings, needless to say we wasted time and money eating here. The food was tasteless, bland and poorly presented. We will not be recommending this place.More

Came with friends from Lichfield,the gentleman has 2 sticks booked for 2pm 6th August we arrived at 1.45 ,there were a lot if tables set but not occupied but we're told Alan would have to stand around until 2pm,buy he asked to be seated so...we were. The food was tasty generous meat portions but the vegetables were only warm not hot which spoiled the meal and friends had travelled quite a long way to visit me a newly widowed ladyMore

Young woman, who I took for being the manager on the evening, was excellent as soon as we arrived. Very professional, friendly and efficient. Explained what was an available very clearly and checked we were ok regularly. Food was also excellent.

We had a table booked for 1.30 but because of a gas emergency had to cancel and rebook for 6 pm. But Denise rang me back to say they were full in the restaurant but she would reserve a table for us in the bar....She kindly arranged for a member of staff to serve us instead of us going to the bar. We enjoyed our carvery which was plentiful with so many vegetables and mouth watering meats When we had finished a surprise desert arrived with compliments from Denise .What a thoughtful idea for our anniversary . I'm absolutely appalled at the level of customer service I have received from this pub. We've been going to this venue for years, and we couldn't reccomend it highly enough until recently. I booked a Christmas dinner for a table of 13 people at the...start of the year, as instructed by a member of staff a few days before the oppenings became avaible. The booking was made with a gentleman who's name I shan't post as it seems unfair to do that, and he assured me the booking was made without any issues. I then, a few weeks later, tried to make another booking for a table of three people incase the family booking I made wished to cancel. This was due to how much we liked this venue, and even if the family didn't want to come along my small family certainly would. However I was told that my current booking could be cut down to three people if needed, so that wouldn't be an issue. I was happy with this information and left things as they were. I then rang up at the start of July 2023 to check in on the deposit process, as I was told to do this at the start of the year. I then found out that there was no record of my booking, and I wasn't on the list. Even though I rang up at the start of the year and was assured that everything was fine, and when I tried to make a booking of three people (as mentioned above) this wasn't flagged to me. This would have been a great time to double check my original booking, which obviously wasn't done, or the booking was on the system at this point. I then spoke to a gentleman who is the mangager of the premises, again I shan't mention his name as it seems unfair to do so, who was extremely unhelpful. He seemed more insistent on letting me know I'd definitely be able to book in somewhere else, to which I replied I'd already made a booking with The Swan. More unhelpful remarks were made, and I was made to feel more of a nuisance than a customer who had booked a table of 13 for Christmas day. I was assured by this member of staff that everything would be done to try and secure my booking the following week, and I would at the very least be put to the top of the reservation list (which has more than 65 people on) if this couldn't be done. I was then told I would be contacted in a week's time on Monday evening without fail. One week later and Monday arrives, I've heard absolutely nothing off the manager. I rang up today (Tuesday) to enquire, and was told it's been resolved and it was due to the gentlemen who took my booking originally not transfering it into the diary? Not sure that makes sense as he told me he wrote it in the diary when I made the booking. I was also told that member of staff has now left the country (again not sure how this is relevant to the issue at hand) and there's absolutely nothing that can be done, and there was no mention of putting the booking at the top of the reserve list. It seemed passing the blame onto someone who is no longer in the country was an easier thing to do than to try and find a solution to my booking issue. Overall, a complete mess, a horrible situation and we won't be attending again for any futute meals. There wasn't even a hint of accountability by the premises, and no offer of a discount on your next meal as we've been coming to them for years. If you're thinking of making a Christmas booking with this pub, be warned that the process to do this is an absolute mess and there's every chance you wil be let down and treated as though you're the problem when you seek help. A decent carvery, but not worth the shambles if you run into an issue.More

Best carvery we've had in a long time. All the meats were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. A good choice of veg as well, all piping hot. Will definitely be coming back.
