Entering Teapots of Olney felt like an opening scene from a Miss Marple episode. Mismatched china, proper leaf tea served in old fashioned teapots and a bell which rang so loudly on entering you really felt like your piece to camera was about to start! We had a very tasty poached egg on toast with smoked salmon and gorgeous pot of tea to wash it down with. The owners actually have time to talk to you rather than the standard 'is this table alright?' line which is rare thing and something of a delight for me personally.Simply no negative points at all the place is cosy, personal and the food is good quality and inexpensive. Its a hit.

A stroll around Olney should always be accompanied by a visit to an old-fashioned tea room, and Teapots fits the bill.
The furnishings are comfortably chintzy but the changes you'd expect to be in place have been introduced with a light touch.
Tables have been spaced out, you need to hand over your details if you're just stepping in off the street, but the bill of fare has stayed very traditional.
We plumped for a generous ploughman's with a selection of cheeses and a prawn jacket potato, both were top notch.
Loos are spotless but they are at the top of a couple of flights of stairs, which is worth bearing in mind if mobility is an issue.

In the midst of Covid it is great to have some sanity return to life with places like this coming back to give us some comfort.
The enforced lockdown has seen a number of physical changes having been implemented but the bright ne table tops, screens, masks, reduced table layout hasn't changed the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff with a true welcome still being extended to all who come through the door.
I sensed a slightly reduced food offering due to the menu being on a wallboard display rather than on the table but pretty sure if you fancied something not shown, efforts would be made to give you what you want. It's that sort of place!
Nice to see Teapots back.

Another lovely experience at lunchtime.
Such a friendly tearoom which serves up wholesome food from a good range of menu options.
Opted for their home cooked ham and coleslaw sandwich which came adorned with a reasonable side salad and portion of crisps.
Ham was lovely, as was the coleslaw.
Lovely place, lovely food, lovely people.

My wife booked afternoon tea for myself and family for a birthday treat and I must say it was absolutely beautiful, lovely selection of sandwiches, gorgeous cakes and warm scones with jam and cream endless tea and coffee if wanted. All unrushed and in a really lovely atmosphere. If you want to book afternoon tea for a special occasion I would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend Teapots.

We often visit around noon after a walk around the local park. The welcome and service sets Teapots apart from anything similar in the area. We always have a pot of tea for two and two toasted Tea Cakes with which plenty of butter is supplied.
The place has a very nice atmosphere and customers are offered a prompt and courteous service by the staff.
The food and drink on offer is very good, the value for money is excellent and we will continue to visit and enjoy Teapots.
Other things that add to the ambience and enjoyment are the cuckoo clock, coal fire and the home made cakes, Teapots is highly recommended as is booking because they are deservedly popular.

Very friendly, welcoming and prompt service despite it being a busy Saturday afternoon. Also very accommodating to our requests for something slightly different to the menu. We both had the Simple Afternoon Tea, which was more than sufficient for lunch for two hungry blokes. In short, excellent value for money, well prepared, seasoned and tasty. The home-made cheese scones were a highlight. Traditional, quaint decor and a great spot for a very satisfying lunch.

We had a most enjoyable visit to Teapots. We have been before, but this was the first occasion since Covid. I was very happy with the hygiene and Covid precautions.
My companion had the All Day breakfast, and I enjoyed my favourite jacket potato with Coronation Chicken filling. The service was fast and the food was very good. We had had coffees and toasted teacake earlier and we had tea after our lunch. I was especially pleased that my favourite Earl Grey came in a pot with loose leaves and a tea strainer.
While there we saw another couple having a full afternoon tea, which looked most attractive and appetising, with what appeared to be a large amount of food. I heard the friendly server say that they could have as many drinks refills as desired and take as much time as they liked, and still have a box to take away anything they could not eat. Judging by the amount of food on the tiered cake stand presented to them, it could have been necessary.
Only downside is the toilet is on the second floor up some steep stairs. I had no problem with these and it maybe that the palce has a back up plan for those who cannot manage stairs, but I did not need to know so did not ask.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at Teapots on Saturday, we had the special afternoon tea which included unlimited drinks.
The quality of everything was amazing and you can tell the owners really care and take pride in their place, they are so friendly and the service is excellent.
The cakes were all so light and easy to eat which is ideal for an afternoon tea as you can actually manage to eat them all! The scone was also so light and fluffy - the best scone I have had!
My only feedback would be that there could be some light music playing in the background as it's quite small inside you do find yourself concious that others can hear your conversation.
Other than that the place is amazing and we will definitely be going back :)
Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

This is a delightful olde worlde gem of a teashop in the historic market town of Olney, famed for its annual Pancake Race. The teashop is located in an ancient building on the main through road and is our regular retreat for coffee lunch or tea. The staff personnel are friendly and professional and the menu is traditional, reliably good snd value for money. Toasted teacakes are superb. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is that the lavatory is up two steep flights of stairs, so inaccessible for people who can't manage stairs. This is not the fault of the owners as I imagine there are severe restrictions on what can be done with the building. Luckily Olney still has free, accessible public lavatories on the square a short distance from Teapots, which is something to bear in mind if stairs are an issue for you.

Took my partner for breakfast truly outstanding. The staff were a delight the quality of the breakfast was amazing. A proper pot of tea with 2 slices of brown bread with the option of jam for £8 each just great value you must try it. We will be back.

We went to Bedford for the day but werent impressed, so my husband looked on line for a 'nice tea shop' nearby. 'Teapots' came up, so we took a ride out to Olney. What a lovely little tea room! If Vera Lynn had be playing, or anything from the 1940's, I would have thought I had walked back in time.
It was a treat!
We had 2 pots of tea, 2 capuccinos, 2 Ploughmans and 2 'small' slices of cake, which weren't tiny, and all came to under £30. Best value we have found yet!
All beautifully served. Very polite and helpful staff.
You may have a problem using the bathroom facilities if you are not good on your pins as it is up at the top of the house (2 flights of stairs) but it is an old town house. I dont know if they have facilities for anybody with a disability.
It is an hours drive from us but well worth a ride out and we will be back in the not too distant future.
A lovely, old fashioned atmosphere.

Myself and my Mum visited for her birthday treat. First time we had been able to return since Covid and the food and service certainly didn't dissapoint.
Staff are helpful, friendly and flexible to cater to customers requests. The Afternoon Tea is very tasty - freshly prepared and excellent quality ingredients.
All in all, a very homely and traditional tea room, highly recommended - nothing is too much trouble and always a warm welcome. We are looking forward to returning soon.

So glad we discovered Teapot's on our recent visit to Olney, and its the sort of place that is still quite traditional in a market town.
Any way the header about Miss Marple,it is the sort of place that they could film an episode of the great sleuth,a very solid and homely place.
Social distancing is all taken care of,and there was hard copies of track and trace.(for us who don't do apps too much).!
Summing up,a brilliant proper tea room, that is warm and very friendly.
I noticed that the locals had taken their dog in for a bit of fuss too,so all in all very welcoming.Food was freshly prepared and very tasty, and reasonably priced.
Will we will be coming back,?you can rest assured we will.

We arrived for our pre-booked visit and were shown to a greasy table in the cramped upstairs area.
There appeared to be only one waitress on duty, so she was aware we were there.
She ignored us for twenty minutes and then came upstairs to take an order from two people who had arrived fifteen minutes after us! We called it quits at this point and left.
If you want something to eat in Olney I would advise going to a real restaurant like the Cherry Tree.
