Really lovely find on our our stay in Newbiggin , food and service were good. Mussels starter from the board were amazing….

The food was really good, staff friendly and attentive. For starters we had the creamy garlic mushrooms, the sauce was very rich and strong in garlic but so tasty, they're served on their own but with the sourdoughbread and butter we were given for our...table we were able to soak up the sauce! Potato skins starter were nice and crispy. For mains, we had salami pizza, chicken bake, breaded chicken dish and sirloin steak with black pudding and a djion sauce on special. All the meals were cooked well, excellent flavour and really enjoyable. Staff kindly offered to box our pizza to allow us to take away with us as we were too full to eat it! My only criticism would be the surroundings. The restaurant is in need of refurbishment with a lick of paint needed on walls that are heavily stained. The toilets were off-putting it looked like someone had been sick in both cubicles that were unflushed, sanitary bins covered in rust, and toilets generally dirty looking.More

The service and the food were terrific! I had the steak and was joyfully surprised by the originally and rich taste. We all had a great time and return every time we are in Newbiggin!

Dropped in at lunchtime and ordered an all day breakfast. It arrived quickly, within ten minutes, but most of it was cold or barely lukewarm. If 10 is hot then the scores were Sausages 8 Bacon 5 Tomatoes 4 Egg 3 Mushrooms 2 Beans 2...I couldn’t make a fuss as I didn’t have time to send it back, ordinarily I would have done. I am left wondering how a “cooked to order” breakfast can arrive in ten minutes and be cold? Either it was left on the pass for too long or else it was poorly reheated, either way it was a poor effort.More

Food was nice however starter portions were small for the price. The food was tasty. The staff were very attentive and quick to serve. However, the restaurant room is somewhat life a cafe but overall the experience was nice.

The restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere however the staff were very pleasant and the food was very good. The desserts were the cheapest I’ve seen in a long while and very nice.

Had to try this little gem again whilst in the area! Had a fantastic meal from the lunchtime menu. Excellent food again. It's a shame we don't live nearer! Will definitely be back.

Best lobster bisque I’ve had for a very long time. The special was a chicken and mushroom stroganoff which was exceptionally tasty. Can’t fault it

We visited on a midweek evening. The place was not too busy. The surroundings are pleasant with plenty of room between tables. The staff were friendly and helpful too. The menu is quite large with a choice of different pastas for your pasta dish. We...had a starter of calamari to share which was very nice. For mains I had the Due Fratelli pasta which was a large portion with plenty of chicken, bacon and mushrooms in quite a peppery sauce. It was lovely. OH had the pasta marinara which had loads of seafood and was a big portion too. He really enjoyed it. The desserts are home made so both of us had tiramisu which came with cream and was delicious. We had a bottle of the house red which was good. We were really pleased with the bill of £56. We'll definitely visit again when next in the area.More

Excellent food and service. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was really busy and they seemed to be short staffed. The staff managed the situation well and still provided great service.

Due Fratelli is an Italian restaurant with a good range of pasta, pizza and other dishes. Food was excellent, as was the service (possibly because there were few other diners). A very good option if you are in Newbiggin.

We visited Due Fratelli whilst staying at Newbiggin at Easter 2023. Great restaurant with fantastic food and friendly staff. Very central location. A great choice of dishes and good options for children. Restaurant was full and everyone was looking happy. We have family in nearby...Ashington so will certainly return again in the future!More
