Visited here which holidaying in the area for a few days with my husband and children. The food was lovely and we all felt ‘safe’ here in light of Covid. The staff wore face masks etc and the tables were spaced. It was good value for money and the 5 of us ate for under £65 including a bottle of wine. I’d recommend this restaurant.

I was apprehensive about eating out as it was the first time we had eaten out Post lockdown. However, the waitress who greeted us upon arriving was very friendly and explained about the one way system and things that were in place and was very clear in doing so. I ordered the deal of £8.95 for three courses and got potatoe skins, cannelloni and Tiramusu for dessert. The potatoe skins were delicious, my cannelloni was also nice but I tried my daughters pepperoni pizza and my partners spaghetti bolognese and they were very tasty. My Tiramusu was equally very nice as was my partners sticky toffee pudding! Our meals and my daughters childrens meal and a glass of prosecco and a pint of lemondae came to just over £30. We couldn't believe what fantastic value it was and wish we had a restaurant like this where we live. The waiter that also served us was lovely and great with our little girl. As we were heading towards the car on leaving the restaurant our 2 year old daughter said "lovely man". Great restaurant if we visit New Biggins by the sea again we would definitely return :)

First visit in a while but wanted to test the water again after the restrictions lifted. Food was nice though drinks expensive but the waiter was new which is fine except he made an error, we were eating off the lunch special menu, it came to coffees and we were asked by the new waiter what coffees, latte was mentioned so we said yes. We queried the bill and latte was extra. Pity that instead of taking responsibility for not briefing the new member of staff and knocking the extra off the bill even after they acknowledged the error we they chose to charge for their error. It's the little things really, the two pound token gesture that could have been honoured, cost the tip, repeat business and my planned birthday meal there as we felt it was unjust. Glad we tested the water. Shame really, nice food but there are lots of other places to choose from.

We have been to Due Fratelli a number of times and have always found it to be a reasonably priced, tasty Italians. We visited recently and were disappointed with the experience and I have definitely had better Here. We were seated quickly but it took 25 minutes for us to order anything even drinks and a further 10 order food. The waitresses were really pleasant and professional but all seemed to disappear on a break at the exact same time leaving only 1 girl. We had been in the restaurant an hour before we ate anything. On the positives we shared a started from the specials board, arancini, Which was lovely and my husbands meal of carbonara was nice enough. As I have already said the staff were friendly if slow. However my meal was very disappointing with the steak being unseasoned and tasting unpleasant and the Dijon sauce had no mustard taste and was very thick and gloopy. However upon realising I had not enjoyed my meal, as I had left it, the waitress had this removed from our bill and so I really cannot question their attempts to deal with the situation, apologise and rectify this. I hope this is just one bad experience as otherwise I normally enjoy my visit. On another note the pizza going out looked great so I’ll be giving this a go next time!

Had a booking for my husband’s birthday celebration. Our first meal out after a tough year for everyone! We arrived at 5/30 to an empty restaurant, there was 6 adults & 5 children. We ordered our starters which were fine, by this time the restaurant was getting busy. By now it was taking longer to place order & receive our main courses. It became obvious that the kitchen were struggling to keep up with demand on the sheer amount of people ordering & waiting on there food being served! I couldn’t believe there were only 2 chef,s cooking in the kitchen for all of these orders. The food eventually came & the pizza & pasta were the worst I’ve ever had there! Half cooked pizza dough it had no flavour or colour to it! Disgusting. Chilli flakes just dumped on the top of my son in law,s pizza instead of sprinkling them on! The pasta wasn’t cooked properly & the whole meal was tasteless. By the time it came to get our desserts we had to keep asking to try & get the attention of the staff to order our ice creams. Eventually they arrived in a very rushed way virtually thrown at us. Considered making a complaint then & there but didn’t feel it was the right time & spoiling the celebration in front of my grandchildren & everyone in the restaurant. So I rang the manager the next day which I did & straight away he was very unprofessional & damn right rude & arrogant! Totally un accepting of my complaint about the standard of the food. So decided to go in with my husband & see him face to face. He just kept us in the main part of the restaurant where there was a couple of diners who could hear all of the conversation instead of being more professional & going somewhere private. He was very aggressive & a disgraceful attitude towards us accepting none of it! By now which had developed into a full scale row. Been to this restaurant before covid & never had a problem. But the standard of this food which in total cost the whole group £130 for digusting food which I could have done better myself. How the hell he thinks you can have only 2 chefs for a full restaurant & provide a good standard of food is beyond belief! Well we will certainly not be back ever again spending our hard earned cash to line the pockets of damn right rude managers! Your a utter disgrace! & I will certainly be spreading the word to AVOID!!! 😡😡😡SHAME ON YOU DU FRATELLI

I visited with 9 others recently &, as the last time I visited, the food was excellent.. However, when one of my party, who had the set Sunday Lunch menu, asked for a different coffee, other than the free filter coffee advertised with the meal, she was told it couldn't be served as the menu, including filter coffee, was a set price & couldn't be changed. Despite then offering to pay the difference between the free coffee & the specific choice, was again told 'no'. I am sad that such a lovely place, are happy to lose the future custom of 10 people, all for the sake of cup of coffee.

The building housing The Central Bar may look inauspicious from the outside but upstairs there is a lovely Italian restaurant, Due Fratelli. From the moment we stepped in to check out the menu we had a warm welcome that inspired us to make a reservation an hour's time. Again when we arrived we had a warm North East welcome. The menu was varied with some good specials, however we chose from the 'bargain' 3 course menus, and that had the choices we would have had from the main menu but at a great discount price. The food came quick and hot, but there was no rush between the course. The food was tasty, my wife had the seafood risotto, which the chefs were able to adjust to her taste, taking out the chillies and calamari. I had a tuna pizza which was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was made onsite and was light and airy, so 3 courses didn't feel too much as they can do. There was a nice atmosphere in the place and the waiting staff were nice and friendly and very attentive. It was nice to learn that it was created by two brothers, the clue is in the name, and that they are still hands on in the business. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice family meal.

This restaurant was recommended to us and we had our anniversary meal there. We were not disappointed. There was an evening menu either pasta based or steak or chicken. The sirloin steak was cooked as requested and had lashings of peppercorn sauce superb. The chicken crema was lovely too. The three course special at £16.95 represented exceptional value and the wine was very acceptable. Smart service and friendly. In my view it’s a practical rather than romantic type of restaurant situated on a first floor of a building. The food was great and was most important. Will revisit if in the area again.

Eight of us met at Due Fratelli for Sunday lunch and were somewhat disappointed. Both the beef and the lamb were overcooked and both had obviously been sliced some time before and simply swamped in gravy. Unfortunately, this now seems to be the common way of serving beef and lamb these days. The days of thick slices of pink or rosy beef and lamb seem to have gone. Other than that, the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were very good,

This well-established Italian restaurant is noted for good food at a reasonable price. In fact they have special set menus lunch and evenings but we chose from the menu. 4 of us and 4 quite different dishes after some rather good starters. I see other reviewers waffle about the decor being rather dated but on that I could hardly care less. all I ask for is no loud music and cleanliness. I had a good risotto and one of my sons a particularly well cooked steak, thick and absolutely medium rare. The other 2 mains were reported as good. I rarely have a sweet but was tempted by their own made tiramisu which was authentic Italian and quite different from the supermarket type. The service was prompt and attentive although our servitor had difficulty with our accents as none of us are Geordies. That gave cause for some laughs.

We ate here whilst staying at a local holiday park after Googling local Italians we chose to dine at this one. When we first arrived we were a little skeptical as it’s above a kind of working mens club/sports bar, however looks we’re deceiving in this case and once you go through the doors to the restaurant it’s very pleasant and a has lovely atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming, friendly & attentive. As a family of 5 we ordered a number of different dishes, all the food was amazing!! Each dish was incredibly tasty, hot and you can tell they use quality fresh ingredients. The kitchen is open so you can see your food being cooked and plated up you can see how fresh it is straight from the pan/oven to your plate. There seemed to only be one chef doing all the cooking and wow what a fantastic job he did everything was perfect, what a credit to the restaurant he is. Would definitely dine here again if we are ever back visiting the area.

Menu could be better. Food was average. Our first visit. I am disabled walking with a stick. My husband is registered blind and had a stroke only a month ago so is walking with a stick. The day before l visited to see if they were open, and if myself and my husband would be ok. Looked ok so booked table for two. When we asked for the bill was told it was cash only. I had to hobble downstairs, (stannah stairlift downstairs,) walk a way down the street in the rain to get cash out. So exhausted when l got back, decided to use stairlift. Key upstairs so couldn't be accessed but for a lady from place downstairs very kindly fetching young girl down. Why wasn't l told cash only. What use is a disabled stair lift if you have to go upstairs for the key or go downstairs to access the lift. Really disappointed. Will travel to Seahouses to our fav Italian restaurant rather than visit this place on the doorstep again. A little effort and some thought for the diners would have otherwise earned you a 3/4

Had the evening special 3 course menu. Food was amazing. Staff really friendly. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for! Chef over cooked my steak but soon rectified it, and apologised profusely, and have me a free drink. The waiter was so helpful, and friendly. Would DEFINITELY come back. I'm a real foodie and this didn't disappoint.

We were really looking forward to our visit here, but left feeling a bit disappointed. The staff were quite friendly, but needed a lot more guidance as, despite asking for drinks, we got forgotten and had to ask someone else. Nobody checked if our meals were okay whilst we ate or if we needed anything. The restaurant was busy when we first arrived so realised that we may wait, but near the end of our visit, staff were leaning against the wall and not checking on tables at all so we didn't order as many drinks as we would have liked and decided against desserts. The starters and mains we had were tasty and we all enjoyed what we had, but the whole experience left us feeling a bit let down.
