Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked for lunch thinking the tapas offer was available as per website.. unfortunately we got there and we were told it had been stopped. The menu given looked promising however the portions are quite small ( apart from the fish and chips). I had...the ham hock flatbread which wasn't great in all honesty. It was overcooked and alot of money for the size. My friend had the sweetcorn fritters which were more of a starter portion. Very disappointed as we'd heard great things.More

We arrived to be greeted by a very friendly and welcoming team. I say team because everyone had a hand in looking after the 3 of us. We were sat and took in the décor, which is a mix of green, brass and wood, which...has a warm almost Victorian feel. We ordered drinks and as we were waiting for our friend to arrive, she was 45 minutes late, we just sat and chatted. The great thing was that at no point was there any pressure or circling by the team. As soon a we advised we were not ready to order we were left alone. We loved that. When it was time to order, the menu, which was refreshing minimal, was explained and we took advantage of the tapas, 2 dishes for £22 which also includes a side. To say that the dishes were incredibly tasty and flavoursome would be an understatement. We had Beetroot Hummus, Black Sesame, Tortilla Chips/ Confit Duck Leg, Fermented Plum Sauce, Lemongrass/Bone-in Pork Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Jaeger Sauce/Chargrilled Steak, Pickled Pear, Blue Cheese Sauce/Heritage Carrots, Smoked Bacon & Maple Syrup/ 2 of the GFC (Glass Orchid Fried Chicken), Buffalo Sauce, Garlic Aioli/Chips & Focaccia. Not a single dish disappointed. My favourite dish...I couldn't pick one. A special mention must go to the team. There's something about genuine people who want to provide genuinely great service. The team were faultless, as was the whole experience. Thank you to all involvedMore

Food is 10/10 as always and the new cocktail menu is lit of this world! It’s clear the owners let the chef and head barman do what they do best and it so works! Service is always awesome and food is served piping hot. Drinks...served ice cold and always with served with a smile. Would recommend for any occasion. Keep doing what you are doing as we will stay happyMore

Good food but bar staff service disappointing. We asked for two glasses of Prosecco, they arrived less than half full. When I asked for them to be topped up I was informed that the bar staff said legally that’s all they could serve! I couldn’t...believe it, I have never come across that in all the years I have been out in bars drinking Prosecco. The coffees arrived and they were less than lukewarm so these had to be returned. We did complain and got 15% taken off the bill and they didn’t charge for the coffees. But i won’t be recommending this place to anyone as I feel it’s very much style over substance. Save your money and go to Iberico in Nottingham.More

Dear MS, Thankyou for the review. We always appreciate constructive feedback. In regards to the prosecco, I can only echo what our manager said to you last night, that we serve a glass of prosecco using the industry standard 125ml measure. Perhaps the volume of...More

We visited earlier today for a Sunday Dinner, it was definitely the best Sunday Dinner we’ve had out (and we’ve had a few) cooked to perfection, lovely tender meat and nice and hot. Don’t get me started on the cauliflower cheese, it was better than...my mums (please don’t tell her….) Worth driving 40 miles for!More

Easter sunday family lunch Arrived and were seated quickly with the menu. We realised there wasnt a drinks menu. The waitress appeared to take our drinks order and noticed the omission. We ordered our food 4 beef and one pork belly with sides of pig...in blanket and cauliflower cheese. The food arrived in great time and was delicious. Another roast potato wouldn’t have gone amiss. Once we finished the waitress took half our plates away the i assume forgot the other 2, the waiter noticed later and took them. He asked if we required a dessert menu we said yes but then waited about 20-30 mins until we were asked for our options by this time we weren’t bothered so paid We will definitely be backMore

Hi. Firstly I was disappointed not to get a reply to my message of last week. Your food, service and atmosphere is spot on. However I really do feel you should offer smaller portions at set prices especially Sunday lunch, for many of the following...reasons: We don't all eat the same amounts of food. Nobody likes wasted food. We shouldn't be encouraging obesity. Parents often like to see their children eating what they eat. We all have budgets but also like to enjoy ourselves. I hate terms like Kids and OAP menus, they are so patronising. I'd strongly suggest that you have a main and Sunday menu that is smaller in size, lower in price and called something like "Our Smaller Sized Menu". Please email me back with your thoughts. Thanks, DeanMore

We had a great evening at Glass Orchid. Our waitress was very efficient, friendly and attentive, and had reserved a booth for us as requested. The menu was varied and offered some great (and clear) gluten free options. Gluten free bread was supplied in place...of the focaccia and it was some of the best I've ever had - definitely worth listing on the menu. The miso aubergine, confit duck leg, poutine chips and steak were all highlights, but to be honest it was difficult to pick favourites because we enjoyed everything we tried. The menu changes so we would definitely return again to try more from the Glass Orchid. I had the perception it was more of a cocktail bar than a restaurant before visiting, but the food was wonderful and my party had a brilliant dinner here.More

Staff great, service great and the food was also great so we had a lovely evening. The booking system worked well and they had the table that we requested ready for us on arrival. The menu has a selection of small plates from different countries...including lots of Gluten free options. As we all ordered different dishes, we covered most of the choices and enjoyed them all. The beer selection is limited but the wines are reasonably priced. I will be going again.More

Came here on a weekday with a booking for a table for 2. It was only about a third full but unfortunately the service was really poor. 20 minutes in and we hadn't even been asked for our drinks order. I ended up having to...get up and ask a waitress to take our order. The staff were polite enough but just seemed distracted and not very customer focused. The food was ok, nothing really stood out though. Overall just very underwhelmed and we left feeling disappointed. If the whole restaurant experience starts poorly it can easily continue throughout the rest of the night and unfortunately this was the case at the Glass Orchid.More
