We were staying here on a Dinner , bed and breakfast offer so sometimes you are not certain of what may be on offer. However we started with an excellent pint of Lomond Ale for myself and my wife enjoyed her Ramsbury Gin. We had a nice table and were well looked after by Ellie all night. We had the Pork Belly , which was delicious and the Cheese Souffle to start which my wife said was one of the best she had eaten. For main I had the burger which was cooked to perfection and my wife loved her plaice which was cooked perfectly again. Both portions were good sized. We also enoyed the Chacabuco Malbec. We could not resist a dessert and had the Sticky Toffee Pudding which was lovely and I really enjoyed my Lemon Mille-Feuille. We then enjoyed a Courvioisier and Glengoyne malt which were both well priced. This was an outstanding meal and our thanks to the team for making it a great night !

We have just spent a truly great night at The Greyhound. A group of us were celebrating a friends birthday and he generously booked us all in for an Evening Meal, Bed & Breakfast. On arrival the staff were all friendly and informative and made both us and our dog feel most welcome. Our room was perfect - warm, comfortable and well equipped. Once settled in we made our way to the bar. Great Real Ales and a jolly good G&T! Then came the birthday meal. There were 18 of us and every dish was hot and absolutely delicious. A triumph from the Kitchen and Waiting On Staff! We shall definitely be back. Thank you all very much for making our stay a great experience.

We stayed 2 nights on a special offer. Thr pub/hotel is situated in a small hamlet about 3 or 4 miles from the town of Wantage i.e. it is a car job. It is a spacious pub with good car parking and has the good fortune to have also a pleasant decent sized garden in which to enjoy a drink. The rooms are separated from the public areas by a locked door (key suplied!). Our room was reasonably sized and adequately furnished with a good bath. We had meals on both days. The menu was limited but we got by. The staff were without exeption helpful, pleasant and courteous. We did had a problem at dinner with my wife's steak but it was readily sorted out - to the credit of the pub management, For anyone who wants to visit Oxford without the problem of parking it is possible to drive to Wantage, park and catch an excellent bus service (2 an hour weekdays and Saturday and one an hour on Sundays) . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would certainly recommend the place.

We ate here a week or so ago for lunch. Whilst the food was nice and the location is stunning, I felt somewhat ripped off which meant I would be hesitant in returning. Some of the double gin and tonics are an eye watering £14 which is just crazy. If you want custom, please reduce some of these inflated prices! Often, you might find slightly lower prices will result in a greater revenue because people will return more often if they can afford it.

Been here few times now, and obviously the first time since the covid scare . We booked online on day before and was surprised to get a booking, turned up with some imtrepatation but this was short lived, as hand wash was plentiful and decent seating allowances had been made seemed a lot of thought had gone into giving their customers a fun and yet safe dinning experience- must say we had a great time food was fantastic with table service( no bar) . It was a real treat, and though only had a 2 hr slot it didn't seem as though they were trying to push you out the door... We are looking forward to booking again in short term future ...Great work all of you

We ordered takeaway from here on Friday night and had the beef burger and veggie burger. Their online ordering system was very easy to use, the collection system was very well organised and very Covid secure. The food was amazing too! The chips were still piping hot when we got home and the burgers were delicious. The portions were very good value for money, we couldn’t finish it all. Was really impressed with the paper/cardboard packaging. We will definitely be back and recommending this service to friends.

1st time we have eaten there, a group of 5, very warm summer evening so sat and ate outside. Mainly had mains and drinks, the mains were mixed with the Pork Belly getting 5 *, the Plaice 4* and the fish and chips 3* - the fish and chips isn't cheap @16£ a head, so was expecting better, it was dry due to over frying. Staff were friendly. Doubt we will return.

We’ve always had really excellent quality meals and service at this pub and count ourselves very lucky to have it within walking distance of Wantage. Have visited twice since lockdown eased and the layout and attention to detail and hygiene was impeccable. One world of warning for those with hungrier or slightly older kids, the children’s menu is great and very tasty but portion sizes are rather small (especially the kids pasta dish).

After a day's cycling on and around the Ridgeway, I was ready for the feast that followed at the Greyhound Inn in Letcombe Regis. A pretty village that's a short & fast descent off the Ridgeway but by car is very close to Wantage. After slaking my thirst on an excellent pint of Green Duck IPA, I fancied every single item on the extensive dinner menu. I settled on a starter of warm Scotch egg with watercress - it had an enticing soft yolk encased in a crisp and savoury shell, delicious. The main courses were a joy to read but the roasted cod loin with smoked herring caviar and mussels had my name on it. A quite stunning plate of food that had the pearly white succulent loin crowned by roe sitting atop a wonderful array of textures and flavours. The sea saltiness of mussels alongside smoky pancetta, heritage potatoes latticed by grilled baby leeks and a buttery white onion cream offering a silky smooth unctuousness to the whole dish. I absolutely loved it. The Italian Vermentino white on the very good wine list made for a fine pairing; light, flinty and with good acidity. Although tempted by some fabulous looking puddings I was just too full to do justice to anything other than an intense and full bodied espresso. A really nice touch was the option of a small selection of sweets & chocolates if you need to satisfy a sweet tooth without tucking into another course. I stayed overnight in one of the 7 beautifully finished rooms above the pub and feasted again about 10 hours later on a cooked breakfast fit for a king. A highly recommended pub, restaurant & inn where the owners and staff excel across all disciplines.

When the Greyhound was allowed to reopen after the second lockdown we immediately booked Sunday lunch as it is our favourite local pub and restaurant. We weren’t disappointed! We had gorgeous roast sirloin and all the trimmings followed by sticky toffee pudding for me and homemade Christmas pudding for my husband. Lovely food, lovely ambience and lovely staff. We will be back soon!

I really liked this place. Our first visit with a party of five for a birthday celebration dinner. A very welcoming room and we had a lovely table from which we could see everybody. The staff were friendly and efficient, the menu suited all of us and their wine list included my favourite without a huge mark-up. Scotch egg with a salad was one of the best scotch eggs I have been served. I ordered a steak, boring I hear you say, but I loved it and the pepper sauce that came with it. Sticky toffee pudding.. just right. If you look at some of my reviews I can be hard to please but here I could fault nothing. It was a great team effort. Well done guys.

Quite simply the best takeaway we have experienced over the entire pandemic period (and we have had a fair amount....), and by far and a way the best Sunday lunch takeaway in the area. The meat was tender and juicy, the potatoes crispy on the outside and floury on the inside, the sundry vegetables (including delicious cabbage, amazing carrots and to-die for cauliflower cheese) were perfect, the yorkies were huge and brilliant, and the gravy was an unctious accompaniment that really really really went down well and completed the picture. Portion size is ludicrous, there was literally 3 inches of food piled up on my plate! Definitely will be going back for more takeaways!

From the car park, gardens and then into the restaurant itself everywhere had the look that everything no matter how small was thought about, even down to the toilet roll being folded neatly. The moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. Our table for 2 was secluded without being solitary. Drinks were brought and waiters/bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about drinks and menu. We choose the eat for less menu, 3 courses for £24, 3 choices each of starter, main and desert. When the food arrived we were blown away, it looked amazing and after tasting we weren't disappointed. The rhubarb bavarois was to die for, it was great value for money. Having eaten at Raymond blanc's le manoir, I enjoyed the food and experience more at the Greyhound. We have already been recommending the restaurant and will definitely be booking again

This is just what a perfect English pub with rooms should be. The food is excellent, with wide gluten free and vegetarian choices - perfectly cooked. A gastropub but without the pretension. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable and the village is quiet and well placed for walkers/cyclists on the Ridgeway. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming with great attention to detail. A memorable place to stay and highly recommended.

We needed to stay overnight. The room was delightful, comfortable, and fully equipped. The evening meal (part of a package) was excellent. I enjoyed a beef tartare followed by an excellent cod fillet. My wife enjoyed a smoked salmon rillette followed by skate. For dessert we ordered the panna cotta (served very differently to previous experience) and a chocolate fondant. The food could not be faulted. The service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast was excellent: in particular I would recommend the yoghurt and granola with fruit compote. Cannot recommend this place too highly (pity we live so far away).
