Combining everything you'd expect from a traditional English country pub, but with the added bonus of a superb range of in-house pizzas, pastas and salads, you will be assured of a warm welcome in this recently re-opened 16th century thatched building. A full bar is available with a range of cask ales, spirits and wine. We have our own car park and an extensive garden to the rear. We welcome both families and dogs! We now offer breakfast from 09.00am, so if you fancy early bite, please stop by! NOTE: After the partial lifting of restrictions on 12 April, we are pleased to serve customers in our garden (as well as from our takeaway window).

We did a walk and decided to come and have a meal here after visiting this a week ago, the meal was amazing, so much to choose from, the staff were friendly and attentive and I will return again, with others.
We did a circular walk from Cuxham and decided to return to the Half Moon pub afterwards for a drink. What a lovely friendly pub, making us feel very welcome was George.
We checked out the menu and have decided not to go further afield...for a walk but to return to do the walk anti-clockwise and then try one of their delicious pizzas……. Looking at their reviews I think we are in for a treat…..More
A chance stop for a weekend lunch proved a delightful surprise. The staff were welcoming. The menu was extensive and enticing. Prompt and cheerful service was given. The food was simply amazing. Each course had a homemade tastiness to it. The pizzas are certainly there...signature meal and you could taste the authentic Italian style base, which we were proudly told that was made onsite twice a day. We will be back. Highly recommendMore
For my 60th Birthday dinner I fancied a traditional pizza, did not want to go to the usual chains, wanted to go somewhere with a cozy pub feel that made pizzas. My husband searched Tripadvisor and came up with The Half Moon which was an...hours drive away. Wow that drive was worth it, the ladies (sisters) were so warm and welcoming and very attentive. As for the pizzas they were the best I have had outside of Italy. Such a lot to chose from too. Delicious and the home made fig sundae finished a lovely end to my 60th Birthday. Thank you so much and keep up the good work you do. We’ll definitely be back.More
we came to celebrate a birthday and the service was fantastic, the food absolutely delicious and the garden setting was a joy. I couldn't resist nosing through the window and on obvious thing struck me. The kitchen not only very clean, but you could sense...the organisation and the love for cuisine, it looks like the chefs have made this kitchen a nice homely place, which had an air of Italian home cooking about it whilst clearly being a professionally equipped space. This place does amazing food at reasonable prices and my pasta dish was so tasty and fresh, vibrant with just the right fat, acid, sweet balance. with smoky element from the meat. From memory my pasta was called "cara"... it had chorizo in. These guys are not purist Italians, I have had pasta on a par with this at more expensive restaurants. they are from Macedonia and whilst the kitchen was adorned with typical Italian ingredients (pastas and 00 flour, olive oils etc they clearly have developed their flexible style based on their years of experience. There are some clear Macedonian elements including the Luxurio (not sure if spelt correct). These chefs are clearly experienced and the owner told us she grew up in restaurants and its really what they know and are naturally good at it through a lifelong passion within the family. I would love you to go here. My family had pizzas which were really pro- looking and tasting. My son had a lovely childrens meals which was well made and tasty pasta and bolognese sauce, a cut above normal childrens meals' quality.More
Having been told The Half Moon makes good pizzas we decided to give it a try. They certainly are tasty but between the mushroom one and the pepperoni one there was not a lot of difference in taste. There is plenty of outside space ,...not that smart but fine for a pub and it wasn't busy. The staff are good value, very cheery and amusing to be told to telephone the order from the table as if calling for a take-away. Would return.More
Visited after the first lockdown while people were still getting their heads around the new rules. The staff had everything running like clockwork while remaining very friendly. The garden is lovely and spacious: the perfect place to be on a summer's evening. Special mention for...the tirimasu - the best I've ever eaten anywhere. I wish all pub kitchens were run by Italians.More
