Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went at 12 noon for Sunday Roast, choosing the beef and the chicken. It could not be faulted!! I can only comment about the beef, which was perfectly cooked and very tender, with only a 10p size piece of fat which I had to...leave . . so pleasing, but unusual. The roast potatoes were as my mother made them, the Yorkshires (I paid for an extra) superb, and the vegetable portions just the right size. So often you get drowned in veggies and much then gets returned to the bin. No wastage here!! On the recommendation of Kayla, I tried the Malva pudding. Anyone who describes it like Sticky Toffee pudding is incorrect. It's light and fluffy, and although it has a caramel sauce, it's not sickly sweet and cloying as Sticky Toffee. The prices are a little high, but the quality of both the food and the service are worth it. Kayla, our waitress, was helpful, friendly and fun, who made time to have a brief chat with us despite being busy. We felt cared for while we were there. In addition, during our meal, Brett came through the restaurant and had a few words at each table, inquiring if everything was good. Only one more comment which I refuse to call a negative. Sunday was the coldest day of the season so far, and it was raining. The restaurant did feel a little chilly, but I have no doubt that will be rectified now that the cold weather seems to be staying around. Maybe I will need to go and check on another Sunday . . . ;)More

We popped into the Pickled Ploughman on Halloween as we were staying in Adderbury. The food, wine and service were excellent and we had a lovely experience. I had crab tart, steak and local hooky ale pie and finished with a mixed berries cheesecake. Delicious!...Worth stopping for if you are in the area for sure 😊More

We came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. Food was absolutely delicious - risotto was really creamy, pheasant was beautifully presented and really tender, and the tagine was bursting full of flavour. We were so impressed. The family that run The Pickled...Ploughman are the most welcoming, friendly hosts. Super attentive and you can tell they really care. We absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to come back soon.More

The menu looked good, nice variety but not cheap. We ordered happily then waited. And waited. When asked politely how long the food would be , we were bluntly told - how long it takes to make. Most of the food was good. However the...‘spatchcock mini chicken’ wasn’t spatchcocked at all but overcooked, flavourless deep fried half portions. Overall no major complaints but disappointingMore

We visited the pickled ploughman since it’s reopening. And while it was okay, we all felt that the quality of the food had gone down and the service was just okay. We would go again, but we aren’t rushing back by any meansMore

One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Hubby had steak cheeseburger & I had chicken bacon caesar salad, we both had special desserts; milk tart & malva pudding. These are South African desserts & the family owners are from...South Africa, apparently the malva pudding is grandma’s recipe, how wonderful. We spoke to the owners, they are amazing friendly people who were really happy to chat & so polite and caring. Their daughter who served our food was a delight. Special mention to our waitress Saskia, she was very welcoming and professional and smiley : ) We cannot recommend this pub enough, 100% all round. Thank you for a lovely relaxing atmosphere with the most beautiful food. We are staying at The Pig Place caravan site 1 mile down the road. We will also mention this place on that review too : )More
