Had a really good meal with friends. I had the mushroom wellington which was just perfect for a grey wet cold day.

We came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. Food was absolutely delicious - risotto was really creamy, pheasant was beautifully presented and really tender, and the tagine was bursting full of flavour. We were so impressed. The menu looked good, nice variety but not cheap. We ordered happily then waited. And waited. When asked politely how long the food would be , we were bluntly told - how long it takes to make. Awesome pub, staff, food, parking. So many good things to say and if you want some advice, try the Malva, it’s a tastebud experience not to be missed.

Took a party of 11 people there yesterday for my husbands 70th birthday, including 2 vegetarians. The food was excellent and the staff really put themselves out. We had a room to ourselves and we all enjoyed it so much. Would highly recommend to others....Thank you so much.More

One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Hubby had steak cheeseburger & I had chicken bacon caesar salad, we both had special desserts; milk tart & malva pudding. These are South African desserts & the family owners are from...South Africa, apparently the malva pudding is grandma’s recipe, how wonderful. We spoke to the owners, they are amazing friendly people who were really happy to chat & so polite and caring. Their daughter who served our food was a delight. Special mention to our waitress Saskia, she was very welcoming and professional and smiley : ) We cannot recommend this pub enough, 100% all round. Visited for dinner on a busy Saturday night. Good to see it busy. A very warm welcome from the owner was a good start. Each pint of Hooky was in tip top condition. A good menu to cater for all tastes and cooked extremely well....Owner tours the dining room to check everyone is happy. I am sure they are. Excellent Service and good pub food which is so often not the case. Nice interiors, greatly improved from previous incarnation. We will be returning.
