We just dropped for lunch and sat beneath the great sliding roof in lovely sunshine with a roaring fire. Lovely lamb stew and they catered for a vegetarian lunch off the menu too.

We have been many times and the food is always top notch. Excellent quality meat, very tasty dishes and relaxed but attentive service. The chef works very hard and is passionate about his trade. Cannot fault this place and we always look forward to going there.

Beautiful food nicely situated to observe the night market on a Wednesday. Chef and his delightful wife were absolutely charming, polite and handled a nice surprise for one of our guests who was enjoying a birthday meal out. Good wine, good food, good company and the waiting staff were polite and charming too. It's open in the summer season form... More

We ate here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my husbands birthday-what an excellent night! The menu is small which always indicates to me that what is cooked is cooked with perfection and passion and indeed it was. The Provence Rose was delicious to accompany the food and the service was just right, William also sang Happy Birthday to... More

Lunch at Le Grand Cep is quite possibly the best meal I have had so far during this visit to France. The salmon was very fresh and the cream sauce was heavenly. Veggies were also fresh and cooked to perfection. I splurged and had the cheesecake and was incredible. Service was terrific and I was put at ease with the... More

We holidayed in Monsegur recently and were introduced to Le Grand Cep by friends. Located in the town square you would struggle to find a more central location. Dining on the terrace offers a view of the market area and all that is going on in town. Throughout our visit the pace was extremely relaxed but without compromising the level... More

Just eaten at Le Grand Cep, what a pleasure. It's a rare thing to get a great meal, but an exception to get an exceptional meal ! This was one of those exceptional meals. The surroundings were lovely and the staff wonderful. Spent the most of the last two weeks eating in as I had booked a cottage with a... More

The owners of this restaurant are more than friendly they genuinely care about their customers. The food was beautiful, ages ranged from 10 yr old to an 85 yr old and we all enjoyed it!! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and good home cooked food - couldn't ask for anything more.

Great place to visit. The owners are welcoming and want you to enjoy their food and the food is great. Very interesting surprise, a grape vine that is @ 416 years old. really cool. Have fun with "Wild Bill"!

Our restaurant has found a new stewardship, and reopened the 15th of March, with a new team and formula.
It will be open again on a yearly basis and the name changes to … « La Pièce de Bœuf »
After 6 years of running this business, we are now going to pursue new challenges.
The new formula will obviously be different than what you were used to at Le Grand Cep, but you will still be enjoying the same atmosphere, the oldest vine of France, the splendid grilling chimney, and the covered terrace under the Arcades of Monségur.
We’re sure that this new adventure in familiar surroundings will be very successful !
It was a pleasure to have been at your service and to please you with our cooking, we truly thank you for your support and loyalty during all these years.
The Grand Cep is no more, long live La Pièce de Bœuf !
Lesley et William
