Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Couldn’t ask for better service or food. Thank you so much. Highly recommend for a simple plat or full dinner.

What a cracker of a place this family run restaurant is! It offers lovely set price lunches - essential to book though - and has good disabled access. I visited with two friends, one who is a wheelchair user. It was my second visit with...them to this restaurant. The first time I was blown away by the service, the quality of the food, presentation and the facilities, but forgot to take photos. This recent visit didn't disappoint and I took photos which really speak for themselves. The restaurant is very popular, not only for workers, but groups of other diners, but it's essential you book in advance. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely place for good value, tasty food and nice setting. The staff are helpful and very nice too.More

Driving home from Biarritz we simply 'searched Google' when on the motorway in this area and found this restaurant just 13 mins off the main carriageway .... and what a find ! Located in a tiny village (You would never just be driving past) ......we received a warm welcome. All tables in the large terrace had been reserved so we ate in side. We chose the 13 euro menu ..... Melon with Ham or Eggs Mimosa, Cote Porc and then Tiramisu, fruit or cheese. All 3 courses were very good. Staff are friendly and chatty !! Great find and would visit again if in the area.More

That includes the service, the food and wine choices and quality, the cleanliness and ambiance. We have been a few times, absolutely fantastique. We will go again, about 40 euros a head for aperitif, starter, main, desert and wines and coffee. Just lovely, please book...not to be disappointed.More

We go here regularly on our family holidays. It is THE treat of the holiday. This family run, extremely friendly, understated resteraunt serves the best food we are yet to experience in the region. The goats cheese salad served in filo pastry parcels with fried...pancetta and fresh salad leaves is a personal favourite as is the cote de Beouf, a meat-eaters hevean. The set menu of 3 courses is €24. Though not cheap, the food is such excellent quality and quantity that it is more than worth any extra expense. If you are within a 100 mile radius of this resteraunt it is worth the trek. We could not recommend it more highly.More

Whether you come to La Ferme d'Orthe for the simple plat du jour or for the full menu, this place is a winner.(Not that south west France is short of winning small town restaurants.) The place was crowded on a Wednesday but we managed to...squeeze in and had the excellent €12 simple daily menu. Cheese and salad for starter, guinea fowl as the main course and profiterol to finish. It was straight forward but also excellent. Our advice to anyone wanting to sample this place? Get there early.More

We couldnt wait to return to this restaurant that we had found quite by chance last year and rated it highly. We arrived yesterday at 12.30 having booked and were left unattended for a good 20 mins before being rudely told it was the set...menu only and that they had already sold out one of the two starters and the only pudding - and there were no replacements unless you wanted to pay more! What we ate was perfectly acceptable but we could have found that anywhere so VERY disappointed and will not return. Shame its gone so downhill in a short timeMore

For lunch we drove to a town called Ortheveille to a lovely restaurant called Ferme d'Orthe. We cleverly arrived right at noon as by 12:20 they were turning tables away. The clientele was everything from working men to couples to families to groups of older...women. My husband stuck with the 12E menu du jour - eggs & bacon, pork chop on peas, dessert (pot o' chocolate) and 1/4L wine - good food and good value. I decided to order a la carte and started with a delicious warm goat cheese salad (the warm cheese wrapped in a little mini-crepe) followed by marget de canard which was delicious as not too fatty or large. It came with delicious French fries and salad - very good (23E for both). I also had a glass of Sangria de Maison and was excellent. The atmosphere and the service were both good. I would definitely come here again and would recommend.More

Menu limited as only a small restaurant with limited covers. Very good food well cooked, typical of the region. If you like French regional cuisine you won't be disappointed. Your dog is welcome too.
