We eat here quite often - the steak is fab! It is in a beautiful setting and wheelchair accessible. There is a good gin menu and cocktails are reasonably priced. We usually use a discount card or vouchers ( workplace benefits) as it is quite pricey overall. This time, service wasn't particularly great and we were a bit disappointed

Had been cycling from Falkirk along the Forth and Clyde Canal and came across this place and thought it was wonderful. We received a nice warm and friendly welcome and the service and the food and drinks were dee-lish

Really nice place to visit . I personally would come here for a window seat and a look at the boats. A really nice place to go for a lunch and a wine. Attentive staff and varied menu.

Stayed here for an overnight stay and ate in the restaurant. Food was all very fresh, clearly freshly prepared, well presented and delicious! A good choice of food, friendly staff and comfortable seating. We also had breakfast and the cooked Scottish breakfast was amazing, delicious haggis! Highly recommended.

First visit, definitely not the last, Friendly staff, great food and hospitality of the highest order. Starter of Stornaway Black pudding Scallops and pea purée was a credit to the chefs, main course of roasted Cod loin, spaghetti, Thai curry sauce mussels, celeriac and diced potatoes was another success from the kitchen, all in all a great family lunch in... Located on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal, between former mining towns of Kilsyth and Croy, the Boathouse is not an obvious location for a tranquil and picturesque setting for a meal. However, unless the occasional quack of a duck, or the gentle putt-putt of a canal boat is off-putting, there are few places in central Scotland's industrial... More

Very large free car park with spaces for those with accessibility challenges. Restaurant views overlook the marina on the canal. Good drinking area and restaurant tables spacious. On todays visit, the staff were very pleasant and kept checking our food was served to our liking. The 2 for 1 offer was a great but you need a voucher. No complimentary... More

Amazing food in a lovely location. We stopped for lunch here after taking a walk up to the Roman encampment and I must say the lunch was lovely. I had mussels in a marinara sauce and the hubby had fish and chips. They were both delicious! I got the normal size portion but I wish I'd gone for the smaller... More

Have dined here before and the service can be a bit "hit or miss". Last night we were advised the cod loin with curry sauce was changed to a spaghetti base instead of lentils. Thought this was rather odd, so asked for it with potatoes instead of pasta. The original description included mussels and some vegetables in the dish. None... More

Visited just before xmas and felt lucky to get a booking as we had heard great things. Arrived to a friendly welcome and seated almost in the middle of the passageway which was odd. The table was covered in crumbs and had no candle or salt and pepper on it. The starters were lovely. For main I had steak with... More
