You are treated like royalty from the minute you walk in this restaurant from the front desk to all the waitress’s waiters owner Sonia and the chefs. Four of us go here and every time we ask Sonia what she would recommend of the menu and every meal is exceptional we wouldn’t go anywhere else . Thank you for a great evening as always 🤗. I seen a review saying the food was overpriced we all disagree worth every penny

As long as I can remember Bombay has been a staple in West Bridgford for years, and it's easy to see why. The food is consistently tasty, with authentic Indian flavors that hit the spot every time. Portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it great value for money. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on one of the area's true gems.

The Bombay Bridgford is a smallish restaurant located close to the iconic football and cricket grounds of Nottingham. Despite this, the owners of the venue have made their dining space clean, crisp, and classy with a simple layout that allows for both intimate dining or a fun experience with a group of friends. My partner and I were really surprised by the variety of dishes on the menu which, when it came to the mains - neatly divided into chicken, lamb, fish and vegetarian -, did not follow the usual selections to be found in many other restaurants in the area that present, more often than not, Anglicised cuisines from the Indian subcontinent. It's worth taking the time to read through the menu as many of their offerings are unlikely to be recognised by name alone. Once you've decided on your main courses then it is well worth asking members of staff to advise as to the best starter and side dishes to complement your choices. Food service was super quick and everything came to the table well presented and beautifully made. It should also be noted that the portions were generous but not ridiculous. All the food we ate was delicious and with the added charm of being surprising in flavours, colours, textures and aromas especially so when one is used to generally ordering a chicken pasanda or a lamb bhuna! Of particular note was the Dhaba White Karahi and the piece of perfection which was the garlic naan. If the chef ever offers a workshop on how to make these then I'll be signing up for it! The food was not let down by the service and the young man who waited on us this evening, Shaun, was charming, personable and professional at all times. He was keen to advise when asked to do so, but with a light touch when it came to keeping an eye on us (no pushing us to buy more dishes than we could eat and no asking if our food was alright half way through a mouthful of it!). He was also amusingly good at sleight of hand! Shaun clearly has a passion for the restaurant and his career and I hope he is treasured by his employer. They really couldn't ask for a better representative of their business. Finally, for one starter (we shared samosas), two mains (which, as well as the dish mentioned above, included Mumbai Gosht Karahi), the garlic naan, pilau rice, a pistachio kulfi, a filter coffee, and two glasses of the Cabarnet Sauvignon, came to around £65.00. Service charges were not included. To conclude, Bombay Bridgford is a restaurant serving regional dishes from India and also recipes inspired by the chef's travels and understanding and love of the history of Indian food and ingredients. The professional and friendly staff support the vision of the owner. The prices do not reflect the quality of the exquisite food being offered and served i.e. eating here is a very affordable experience.

My partner Darren and I had the pleasure on Saturday night (25th May 24) following the Take That concert to stumble across this fabulous restaurant. Eventhough it was an exceptionally busy night with lots of customers they managed to accommodate a table last minute for us. We experienced exceptional service from all the staff and quality food, the food tasted delicious. I rarely leave reviews however felt our visit to this restaurant was on a exceptionally busy night and we did not expect the exceptional service and quality of food we received, thank you to all staff working that night you made a great end to our night out and weekend away. We both highly recommend Bombay Bridgford as a restaurant to visit when in the area. Darren & Sarah.

The food was not cooked properly and when we complained they did nothing and we later asked to take the food out. They took the chicken pieces out of the curry and gave us just the sauce. What a poor place, they get away with ut as its close to the football club. Keep well away from it.

It seems really contradictory that you wanted to take the food home despite it not being cooked properly. Additionally, ordering one main course to share between two people and expecting enough leftovers for another meal is quite optimistic. I can assure you nothing was taken from your food as there was hardly anything left. It's unfortunate that your dissatisfaction led you to write a review solely because you didn't receive a refund.

We arrived late having watched London Scottish beat Nottingham by one point in the Rugby Championship evening match. The staff were very helpful. The decor of the restaurant is above the norm and the menu offered interesting and varied dishes. We ordered from the specialty section. The dishes arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious with lovely tender lamb and subtle curry flavours. We will definitely visit again after the next rugby encounter with Nottingham.

Visiting from Aberdeen to see family and we thought it would be nice to go out for a family meal for 8. I'm a coeliac and I always get food anxiety when going out so I phoned ahead just to check what the situation was. I had no need to worry at all as it soon became evident all the staff are fully versed and trained in not only food intolerances but guiding customers through their coeliac options. Furthermore, I was overwhelmed at how kind and patient both servers were. I have to say one of the best experiences I've had and wanted to let you know that I'm also going to let the Coeliac Society know so they list you as a place to go! As a coeliac it's so difficult finding 'safe' places to eat especially at this time of year. Once again, I am eternally grateful for making it such a fine dining experience. Amazing staff especially the young lady who greeted us.

Despite slow service, the service recieved was warm and inviting and really only reason why this review is a 3 star. We were sat at the back of the restaurant where it felt untidy and dirty as we faced the toilet and til area. Our table cloth was stained and I swapped a dirty plate with my partner as he's much more reserved than I am. The chilli chicken starter was hugely disappointing; it didn't actually have the texture of chicken nor did it tatse like chicken; very poor quality meat. The amritsari was overfried in stale oil- monkfish is meaty and delicate yet the dish was overseasoned and overdone. The naans were also overdone meaning the thick fluffy robustness of a usually well done naan was lacking and as a result we ended up with crispy, flat, burnt bread. The peshwari has a good flavour. There should always be a stipulation when being served a spirit as to whether it is a 25ml or 50ml serving. I should also have the option to pour the tonic in myself so I can choose how much I'd like in it. All in all very average food at best and wouldn't revisit despite being local. Was hoping to have something decent on the doorstep but looks like venturing out of Masala Junction on Mansfield Road is the way forward for us.

Dear Fs278 Having served you myself and actually having a conversation about how you were enjoying the food I am surprised that you did not mention any of the above during eating it although I wish you would have expressed how you felt I would have ensured to make it right for yo. I must say I am thankful for awarding my warm service a 3 star but I feel I need to clear a few points about our food having read this and all the other reviews you have left on other restaurants clearly suggests that you are an expert in food. To start I would like to say that you took 45mins after your arrival to decide what you wanted to eat and I came to our table several times to help you and answer all your queries . You ordered 3 courses, not all together but one at a time. Everything is made fresh when you place the order not precooked or reheated in the sequence that it was ordered. I must give you credit that you are right about your starter not tasting like chicken because you ordered chilli lamb kebabs, we do not have chilli chicken on the menu so well done! The Fish Amritsar is a very popular dish and that is how it is cooked, I suppose you just don't like fried food as you have left several negative comments at other establishments too about such a dish - My suggestion would be please do not order fish Amritsar or any fried food next time you dine in a restaurant as you don't like oily food. Coming to the Naan breads - Any bread with a heavy filling cannot be fluffy or robust - common sense especially cheese as it melts while cooking. The crispy flat and burnt bread as you describe it was consumed in full. Your stipulation about being served a spirit 25ml or 50ml could have been resolved if you would have just read the menu as it clearly states on it, we will surely take your recommendation of asking our customers if they would like the tonic being poured or not. Lastly the front of the restaurant was full and the table that you speak about does not face the toilets but the door leading to the lobby where there are toilets. Just worth a mention that a week ago Nottingham Evening Post Food Critiques were sat at the same table and awarded us No 3 in the whole of East Midlands. Article in the newspaper if you wanted to read it with a picture at the table. All in all, I hope Masala Junction can put up with your very high standards, I can only wish them good luck! Sonia Shah

Over the last few months, we have eaten here a few times, before football games at the City Ground. I am vegan and my husband doesn't eat meat and so we're always asking for suggestions from the menu. The lovely lady who greets people on arrival is always smiling and ready to recommend menu items which either are or can be made vegan. My absolute favourite is the Turtle Bean curry and the Naan bread which is the best I have ever tasted. My husband tried several fish dishes which were also lovely. Often busy, the staff are always doing their best, with kindness and courtesy, We can't wait to have another meal. Thank you!

Second time coming, and both times have been amazing. The staff is great kind and very amicable, the drinks are great too. I had Strawberry Daquiri. Now let’s get to the food: Absolutely gorgeous, I had the Octupus curry with rice and garlic nun bread this time, and last time Inhad the butter chicken. Both my mother and my sister enjoyed their food. If you are on a selective diet and cannot eat fried or butter like my mom, have no worries. The staff is helpful and will comply with any dietary restrictions. Will come here again and thank you to everyone: Chef, waiters, barman, hostess and cooks 🙌☺️

At end of day 2 of the test we spotted this restaurant as we came out of the ground. I had read good reviews so we took a chance and asked for a table for 2 ,despite them being very busy with cricket fans. A delightful young lady ( sorry missed her name ) immediately took us to a table and within minutes we were served ice cold pints of Cobra. Really interesting menu with dishes I has never seen from many regions of India . We enjoyed tandoori starters, chicken, lamb dishes rice and fresh naan. Food was fresh and delicious. Waiting staff were wonderful - asking about our day at the cricket and looking after our every need. Made us feel very welcome in your city. Thanks to all at this excellent restaurant as 2 very full and happy fans headed to our hotel to get a rest before day 3. We will be back for both the cricket and the food.

Excellent service and good food. On 19 September the waiter that evening advised us about our order and could not have been more helpful. As a Tuesday night they were happy to welcome late diners, which is not often the case. Good wine list, suited to a varied menu. We ate in and over-ordered to enable take-away!

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve had the privilege of trying out. A combination of a dedicated manager and experienced chef has always left me amazed and given me a homely feeling every time I chose to dine in this restaurant. I am a vegetarian and have had the opportunity to visit the kitchen. I really appreciate the lengths their head chef, Micheal went to ensure that meat doesn’t come in contact with my meal in any form. Lastly, in respect to the meal Ive had, I had ordered naan bread and jeera rice to go with Dal tadka and Paneer Butter Masala. I must say the food was quite good. The dal tadka had the right amount of spices and the planner butter masala was just soothing. After the meal, we were given hot towels to wipe our hands and the desert menu which was simply tempting. They have a wide collection of movenpick ice creams and indian deserts. Their pistachio ice cream was fabulous as always. This restaurant may be on the pricier side but you aren’t paying just for food that fills your stomach. You are paying for the highly experienced and trained staff and homely hospitality that is in my opinion guaranteed incomparable to any other restaurant in Nottingham. I would sincerely like to thank Sonia for the hospitality and look forward to visiting again.

Visited Bombay Bridgford this evening and had a wonderful time. The decor and surroundings were beautiful and we had a lovely table tucked away from the other diners. The food was very tasty but what made the evening was our lovely waiter Shaun who was absolutely charming and very knowledgeable about the dishes. His recommendations were en point! We had a wonderful evening and would definitely return again! Thank you Shaun for looking after us so well 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
