It was started of so well, a lovely country pub, with friendly regulars and and mildly grouchy bar staff. It wasn't necessarily clear whether it was order at the bar or some one would take you order at the table - it depended on the work ethic of waiters and waitresses that came to your table. The young gent was... More

We booked for dinner with two friends. Although the service was good and the staff very friendly, the meal was very disappointing, especially the fish dish which I had ordered. The plaice was cooked well enough, but the sauce was extremely salty, the potatoes very bland and the carrots roughly chopped and peeled with no seasoning at all. For the... More

We visited for lunch with my partner's sister and her husband. Unfortunately there was a coach party booked for lunch too so we were told we would have to wait for 1 hour as we hadn't booked as the chef was rushed off his feet. We were happy with this and enjoyed a good chat over drinks in the garden.... More

Good traditional family pub serving good pub food. Lovely evening and weather when we visited so ate in the garden. Lovely large garden ideal for children. Staff helpful and attentive -all good. Pub far nicer inside and at the back than outside front appearance. Will return next time in area

It had been a while since I last visited and the pub had new management. Would it still be worth the visit? Most certainly yes. The beer was well kept, the food delicious, the wine not too pricy and the service excellent despite having starters in the garden then retreating inside for the remaining courses! Will be back....

A further visit to The Partridge was really disappointing. I had a veggie lasagne which was more like a child's portion. It was tiny and so microwaved that it had shrunk away from the edges of the dish. My fellow diners were also disappointed with their food. Sad, as I thought this place had turned a corner when the last... More

We were recommended to this backwater village pub with olde world charm by a friend who raves about it. Our party of four were not disappointed with a good lunchtime menu to choose from with generous portions when served with very little delay. The wine menu was varied and palatable. We started our meal indoors and then moved into the... More

We visit a few times each year and think the food, atmosphere and service all deserve special mention as this is a pub worthy of finding an excuse to visit. On a summer's day it can't be beaten.

Description
The Partridge Inn is set within the picturesque Goodwood Estate in the South Downs village of Singleton near the Cathedral City of Chichester, West Sussex. The building dates back to the 16th century when it would have been owned by the rich and powerful Fitzalan Earls of Arundel.

Today the Partridge Inn is transformed into a warm local pub with great character at its heart. Expect a friendly welcome from your new hosts Sarah and Mark, a relaxed atmosphere and great food.
