Introduced to us by friends who live in the area. Host/chef is quite a character and the food is unique and tasty. Across three visits his suggestions have never let us down. Suggest exploring more unusual dishes as most restaurants are similar in the area. Seasonal chestnut pasta is superb.

We arrived for lunch on a Monday, the chef/patron is a big ebullient character who seems to take the orders, cook and serve all himself! A few things were either gone or little stock so no chicken or potatoes left ! Local wine from the cask was great but overall slightly underwhelming but an interesting experience

You have to try the chicken dish and the onions baked in ash ... amazing food although the service is a little erratic .. in the summer the tables are outside in the square so beautiful atmosphere but the square slopes drastically and so do the tables so hang on to your plates !! but the food is well worth... Massimo was a fantastic host, passionately explaining the local delicacies on the menu. Beautiful setting with the tables outside on the piazza. Highly recommended!

Enjoyable evening. Our waiter Massimo (sp?) explained the menu in detail including the Tuscan origins of the dishes. We had pasta and a segundo. I had the local lasagne. My wife and daughter had simple pasta with tomato sauce. All very fine. We then shared a large bistecca fiorentine, which was excellent. The local wine was very good as was... More

Excellent food every time we eat there. Very nice atmosphere and surely the best experience you can have eating Italian food! The owner is very friendly too. We return here again and again. The price of the portions is also good.

We had a lovely dinner here in the weekend. Was packed with locals everyone enjoying both the food and the atmosphere. Fireplace in the center of the room and our host with a fiery temperament warmed the feeling even before the pasta arrived. Homemade pasta in big portions, maialino in forno, coniglio with truffless, all was delicious. My only question... More

If you are looking for a perfectly aged (20-30 days) Bistecca Fiorentina this is the place to go. I haven’t had a steak this good in a very long time. The roasted onions and potatoes are great too. This is an old school Tuscan surprise with no frills or touristy crap. Celebrate eating great meat here!

Returned with Italian friends and as always received a warm and friendly welcome from host Massimo. The dishes were clearly explained and were delicious, in particular the chick pea and chestnut soup and the slow roast pork with wild fennel. Service was good, as was the atmosphere and the osteria is clearly very popular with locals. A must to experience... More
