We stopped here for lunch on a fabulous circular walk recommended by Nigel Vile (Vilewalks). We parked at Great Elm, walked for an hour and a half, taking in beautiful views. We stopped at the Mells Cafe for lunch. We both had quiche and salads...More

This the local village shop & cafe run by the local community. Charming place and with lovely people serving you. Good choice and quality within its offering.

Mells is a lovely Mendip village for a walk and the village cafe is a great place to rest a while and enjoy a snack or maybe just a coffee.

The people were really nice and we enjoyed a cup of tea and relax after a long car journey. The food looked really good and we appreciated the philosophy of this cafe.

Friendly staff with home-made food. Nearly all are volunteers working at this community shop/cafe in the (nearly famous) village of Mells

We had lunch here after a bicycle ride. Staff very helpful and food was excellent. I had a goats cheese panini which came with a salad. Enjoyable food in a relaxed and clean cafe. I will definitely go back

We use this as our works canteen they do a limited menu but it always taste great and you never know what you may find in the cool cabinets. sometime we just come for coffee and cake its great...

The award-winning Mells Cafe is attached to the village shop and was opened by Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry at Easter 2011 and became an immediate success, serving freshly-cooked food to local residents, visitors, walkers and cyclists , 7 days a week, all-year round. Accessed through Mells Village Shop, it has become the hub of the village - a popular visitor attraction serving hearty breakfasts from 9am, home-cooked lunches and delicious teas. Come and try our spectacular bacon baps, delicious coffees and teas, hearty home-made soups and salads, crispy, filled Paninis and of course, freshly made cakes and biscuits to die for.
